Pats are 3-point home dogs. Trying to think last time they were underdogs at home?

Colts game in 2006 is the only one that comes to mind, besides the very first game ever at Gillette in 2002 against pittsburgh.

No.

The Patriots are -3.0.

Makes it a push when you consider home advantage.

That's my bad. Scoresandodds had it backwards a minute ago and just fixed it. As soon as i posted this i check Diamond Sportsbook and saw the right spread.

Good fortune having them at home. Obviously, pass rush is helped dramatically by crowd noise.

Ravens 27 Patriots 21.

You will see just how good Joe Flacco really is. Not being a homer, it is just a fact.

BTW he is 7-2 in his last 9 road games, a better record than he has at home.

Well they dialed it up against Ryan, so I would expect much the same against Flacco. No more waiting for the D to gel, time to get after people.

As far as Im concerned were Underdogs for the rest of the season and I love it:D

For our defense, Baltimore poses many of the same problems that Atlanta posed - a balanced offense with a big-play QB and a strong running game. They have a solid OL and 3 good RBs. Their WRs were considered weak going into the season, but they have managed so far. They are average over 34 PPG through 3 games.

It will be a good test of our defense to see whether we can continue to hold opponents to low scoring games. Through 3 games our defense has given up just over 14 PPG (17 + 16 + 10 = 43 points, not counting the Brady INT for a TD against Buffalo). 34 PPG vs. 14 PPG - something's gotta give.

Offensively, this should be a reprisal of the NY game and should give us a chance at redemption. Baltimore will attack from all angles, especially with their LBs. Their DL is stronger than NYs, their secondary weaker overall (their CBs are only average, though Ed Reed makes up for a lot). I doubt they have anyone who can shut down Randy Moss the way Darrell Revis did. If Welker is back, it will be a big plus. The key for the Pats offensively is obviously how they handle the defensive pressure. I'm guessing they will do a better job than they did against NY, and hopefully do a lot of the things I had hoped they would do against the Jets - run, use play action, use screens, use misdirection, use 2 TE formations with extra blockers to pick up the rush, etc.

This will be a great test. Win, and we are back in the "elite" mix in the AFC. Lose, and we are 2-2 and still struggling to find our groove.

Redemption won't come until 11/22; however it has to be good for us to face "the same" defense again so quickly and then again in 7 weeks. We have to figure something out by then - don't we ?

Yes indeed. I'm quite looking forward to Baltimore coming to town.. :)

Inrteresting. Why does he hate playing in Baltimore? He doesn't like the city? Or the crabcakes?

You ever watch The Wire? I live in Columbia (30 minutes south of Bmore) and I avoid that city like the plague. I'd rather go 50 minutes down south to DC if I want to be in a city.

THAT was one of the best series I have ever enjoyed watching. Great characters and plot lines.

I agree with you, Flacco appears to be the real deal. He'll be 7-3 on the road this time next week though and I'll go with Patriots 31 Baltimore 21.

I guess I am in the minority here. I would rather play Baltimore later in the season when our offense is clicking....not now when we are already struggling with Moss,Welker, Mayo, and Wilfork hobbled.

We may well play them later in the season, too. :singing:

Well if you want to start throwing win records around... Brady is 15-2 in his last 17 road games. :)

NOW WHAT!!!

J/K man...I think Balty is gonna whip us. :(

Should be a good game, Baltimore is always a tough game. Glad they are in Foxboro.

I don't think we trully have seen either team so far this year.

Ravens have faced 2 teams that might not win 5 games between them in the Chiefs and Browns. Chiefs made it a game until late, when they made a mistake and the Ravens capitalized.

A late stop helped them beat the Chargers who were driving. I am expecting a close game, with each team being 3-1 next Monday.

True. Even with the likes of Stringer Bell and Snoop dead, I fear bumping in the Stansfield Crew or any new hoppers who think they are going to run those corners. I would avoid B'More at all costs.

Baltimore will be a tough game - though the weakness in the DB's will surely be exploited to greater extent than was the case against Atlanta.

Flacco is getting plenty of praise for his first 3 games - and rightly so, but who have they really played?

A rebuilding KC, a struggling San Diego team and a dire Cleveland team.

Against Rivers they shipped 436 yards through the air and 26 points - i'm guessing, that without Tomlinson, they have become a good deal more one dimensional as an offense.

The way to attack this defense is to pass to open up the run - but i'd definitely recommend less shotgun (and yes, especially in the redzone).

Maroney, Morris and Taylor had a very nice outing this week - as a trio they can be very dangerous - I hope we don't get too far away from the relative balance of the Atlanta game.

I've been impressed with the efforts of the 4 man front to stop the run so far - Mcgahee and Rice are a decent tandem so they'll have to be consistent in defending them.

Flacco will be easier to defend if we can make him become more one dimensional - whether that be by scoreboard pressure or by nullifying the running game.

I like our chances - I will need alot more evidence to buy into the Ravens as an offensive powerhouse - by the same token I think their D will improve as the year goes along.
