Re: Brandon Tate

Hearing this update and looking at the picture in the Herald, all I could think of is "DY-NO-MITE!!!!!"

Re: Brandon Tate

He certainly sounds optimistic, that's excellent. Who knows about the rest of this year but next year the WR could be Moss, Welker, Tate, Edelman, Nunn and Aiken. Did I miss anyone ? That's a pretty good group of experience, youth and ability plus ST with Welker, Tate, Edelman and Aiken all being ST players one way or another.

Re: Brandon Tate

Saw this on on the Herald site. I'm actually surprised he made these comments.

BostonHerald.com - Blogs: Rap Sheet Blog Archive Hellooooooo Patriots rookie receiver Brandon Tate… “I’m feeling good.”
I know he was highly reguarded before the injury. Maybe we get some production out of him at some point
I don't know that I would be 'surprised' by his comments; what is he supposed to say? "My knee is still really sore" or "I'm looking forward to 2010"?

If I was Jimmy Walker, I mean Tate, I'd be eager to get on the field as well as do an interview to remind people I was still here too, given the performance of Edelman Sunday and Nunn in training camp.

Re: Brandon Tate

I think Tate's primary value will be as a returner. He was the #2 receiver at UNC. We could use a returner, although I don't know if that is where you want to throw a guy coming off an ACL.

Re: Brandon Tate

He returns kickoffs in my madden franchise, so I can see no reason why he can't contibute on the field this year. After all, according to the season I'VE been observing, Brady is on pace to throw 75 touchdowns to 12 different receivers, Tate hauling in a baker's dozen. Baker, ironically, hauling in only a regular dozen....

On the real, can Tate rush the passer, or block a zone blitz? Thats where we seem to be having some issues.

He was a #2 receiver behind a 1st round pick though... so nothing to sneeze at.

He was coming on big time as a WR. It's very possible he would have been drafted ahead of Nicks if not for his issues (ACL and drug test).

seeing the picture? its his face lol. u might've looked @ Kyle Arrington and been like "wow"

Re: Brandon Tate

I wonder if him and/or Edelman can push Galloway for playing time.

I think one very unappreciated aspect is how all of a sudden we have at least one young receiver who looks very good (and maybe another in Tate?), in light of the hue and outcry of the Chad Jackson debacle.

Why is Galloway even on the roster? He does not appear to bring much to the dance.

You're preaching to the choir!

What I don't get is it doesn't appear to be any sort of physical issue with him, but more so a mental one. Which to me at least, is rather surprising considering how many years he's been in the league.

Goes to show you how much it takes upstairs to play in the Patriots offense.

I was down at UNC for work in the spring, and someone in their PR department said something like "I saw you guys drafted Tate, everyone says he's better than Nicks". Take it FWIW.

Re: Brandon Tate

Tate was actually considered a first round talent and the better of the two prospects before he tore his ACL. He had a rare blend of power, speed, quckiness, elusiveness and good vision and was a lethal weapon in the return game. He started coming on big as a WR during his senior year and showed improved route running. Everyone remembers Nicks because of his big Bowl Game and the behind the back catch he made, but Tate was seen as a similar to prospect to Percy Harvin due to his ability to impact the game in two of the three phases on the game (special teams and offense).

I like how the writer admits he doesn't know who Tate is, then admits he doesn't know the eligibility rules, and discredits Tate immediately after the interview.

He makes Tate sound dumb that he is "wiring on a call" when he's not even eligible until after week 6.

Let's just hope Tate reads the article.

Hicks got so much bowl game hype it's not even funny. My guess is that's whn the giants started to scout him.

Once Tate is not high I look forward to seeing his production.

Just think that you don't hear many players nevermind rookies discuss injuries at all i.e not a peep from crable last year.

Why is everybody down on Galloway? Brady short-armed him several times Sunday. That's not Galloway's fault. Maybe Brady and Galloway's timing is off, but give the guy a break. Galloway beat his guy several times Sunday and if Brady had hit him in stride, they might have gone for TDs.

Yeah, Galloway caught six passes from Brady on Sunday. And on THAT particular Sunday, that's impressive.
