Too bad we werent at home, the Patriots fans could have chanted Brady sucks, or at least booed the team like last year.
As I read this board, I am embarassed for the fan base.
I will respond in advance to the majority of Chicken Little crowd, by saying that assessment of what happened in the game is fine, it should be negative, but criticism of the organization, schemes, philosophies, overall personell including Tom Brady (losing for the first time in 22 reg season games) is ridiculous. Everything about this franchise, its coaches and its philosophies are being attacked for ONE LOSS.
I left the board Sunday Night because I hate the fair weather mentality.
I'm leaving again.
Hopefully when I return people will have realized the most successful franchise of the last decade lost 1 game, not 8 in one day.

well said. don't leave.

I don't mean I'm leaving long term, I don't even mean I'm taking my ball and going home. I don't really even mean to change anyones opinion, because I have learned that it doesnt work. For some reason there are fans who revel in I Told You So, and enjoy trying to forecast disaster, and others who apparently feel smart if they can criticize a successful program when it fails once.
If I 'stay' (meaning post in the immediate future) it will only turn ugly as I fervently disagree with the mob mentality that has taken root on this board.
So instead, I just won't read, won't feel the need to respond to it, and will come back when reality sets in.

That is 150% on target. You stay right here! You don't go anywhere!

OK, that's funny, but I still agree with Andy! ;)

I think the concern of chicken littles as you call them is mainly based on two problems that is a glaring weakness on this team - PASS PROTECTION and PASS RUSHERS

These are two of the hardest areas to improve on once the regular season starts and people are worried about those areas,if you are not I think you may want to put the kool-aid down and think about it a little more, how do you think the team and the talent IN THOSE PARTICULAR AREAS change for the better, either you are good at protection or you are not - either you are good at pressuring the QB or you are not.

You can easily improve on QB play, you can improve on pass coverage you can even improve on play calling on both sides, but if Banta freaking Cain is your biggest threat at pass pressure and the 5 OL are failing at keeping thier blocks consistently in a game leaving 1.3 seconds of average for Brady to get the ball off then you are justified in worry.

Brady WILL come around and the offense WILL succeed IF you give the man time to throw the damn ball and let him get his feet planted before someone plants him to the turf - However I give up on consistent pass rushing pressure,I don't see it as something that will get better down the line,we don't simply have that type of front line that can make a QB feel uneasy like Brady has been,If Banta Cain is your biggest threat to get to the QB then thats scary - someone in the front 7 besides Tully needs to pick it up - Adalius Thomas has been a non factor in that area so far.

This team does still have what it takes to win a title and does have the overall talent to do so, but those 2 areas that I mentioned I am very worried about,If you are not worried more power to you.

As I explained it isnt a matter of assessing the game, its the bs that goes with it.
A true die hard fan community would not dance on the grave of one loss.
Read the board. And ignore everything you knew about this team before you did.
You would conclude that BB is a doddering idiot who doesn't know anything about football, our team has no talent, Brady lost 'it' in the surgery, and we have been a medicore at best team for a long time.
At some point 'fair and balanced' incudes giving the benefit of the doubt in not blowing one game out of proprtion, but lynch mobs never are fair and balanced are they.

Give us a break, We just lost a game. It's how fans grieve, no matter how bad we talk about our team, at the end of the day we will still support them. We just need to release some steam(especially the first couple of days after a lost). It's not that we are chicken little , band wagon fans...It's just that we need to vent out some frustrations and sometimes in doing so we might post a few things that may seem like we have no faith and the sky is falling.

Besides this is a message board, We are suppose to express how we feel with our thoughts. Whether or not It's rational thinking. I can bet you after a person has shared his thoughts in here,he or she feels way better. Bring on the Chicken Littles!

Between the flaming homers and the chicken littles there never was a whole lot of room for middle ground around here.

The Pat however will be fine.

Jumping ship after one loss is one thing. Remaining blind to areas which need to be addressed are another.

I'm fine with having a down game. I haven't said one word against Tom Brady, or, frankly, against any of the players. I like our personnel. I still think we have the players to be a SB contender.

BUT I've been saying all pre-season that we need a more balanced offense, and I don't like average 50 passes/game. I don't believe that will be a useful recipe for us. AND I've been saying since the end of last season that we need a less passive defensive approach. The coaches call the plays and implement the schemes, not the players.

We should still make the playoffs. Heck, I think we can still finish 14-2 if we change some things and make the right adjustments. But we have some work to do if we want to be a legitimate SB contender. If saying that is "disloyal", embarrassing, and causes you to jump ship, then so be it.

We actually lost BOTH games if it were not for the Brain Fart of McKelvin

Lets be honest,BOTH games were played below this teams normal production and we were fortunate McKelvin did not take the knee down in the end zone like he should have.

I was not proud of that win against Buffalo but I sure was happy we won.

We should be 0-2 you can't cover that win up with makeup,we should have lost - we lucked out on stupidity from a player on another team.

Until this team shows domination from the first quarter to the last quarter you will have many doubters of who and what this team is.

If I am not wrong,This team has yet to have more than a 3 point lead at any time in the first 2 games,It better change soon - You can't continue to trail with 5 minutes to go all the time and pull out a win from your ass.

Anyone who is pi$$ed at the world for a loss right now isn't thinking back to past teams...and eqarly season struggles.

We lost, it just hurts more because it was the jets.

Okay....

we move on and fixt whats wrong, thats how the Pats do it.

These next two are big games, Atlanta and Baltimore. This should be a test for our team on both sides of the ball, no better time to get it right and start playing well.

BB, Brady, Wilfork, Moss, etc are not crying about the Jets anymore, neither should we. Lets look to improve each week.

Funny. Captures it!

( And I loved Andy's original post too)

Um, Andy, it's okay--the essence of football messageboard is second guessing players, coaches, and the FO. A kumbaya board would be so dull that there truly wouldn't be any reason to come here. In the words of Deborah Harry, don't go away mad.

i disagree that it's a mob mentality since a lot of us have been fighting the fight.

look, there are people on this board who expected the O to take up right where it left off at the end of the 2007 season. i never had that expectation; in your one a week thread i said before the season began that on paper this was a 13 or 14 win team, but that i thought there were too many uncertainties given tommy's return, the reshuffled deck on D and the usual vagaries of an NFL season (like, most recently, injuries to Mayo and Welker that kept them out of the Jets game) to get my head around more than an 11 win season by a team that would get better and better as the year went on, make the Playoffs and then compete for the SB...that's exactly what I still believe.

I don't care if we start 4--3 into the Bye, as long as the team is gelling week by week. This team is too talented and the coaches are too good not to get it together and kick butt as the season goes on and peak at the right time into the Playoffs. That's been my story since Week -1 and I'm sticking to it.

It's just tiring to read on a Tuesday.

The game was a few days ago.

When does your steam blow off?

The OL is what the OL has been. In fact it is clearly better than in some of the very successful seasons. Somewhere (I dont remember where, NFLN I think) it was stated that Brady has HIT SEVEN TIMES. In 47 passes that is not a bad job, especially when 23 of them had 6 r more rushers. However, for some reason fans seem to be happier if they can find a place to blame a loss on, and ecstatic if they can project that blame into season long doom. I do not understand why.
The problem in that game was not what happened before Brady released the ball, it was what happened as and after he did. That was simply not the typical Tom Brady. He has dealt with being 'rushed' and being hit more than 7 times in a game, and torched teams. In tbis game too many of his throws did not go where he wanted them, or with the zip he wanted, because he absolutely was not stepping in to his throws.
If the 'real' Tom Brady was out there, we win that game by 2 TDs or more.
I am perfectly comfortable saying that we need Brady to play like Brady to win that game. I am 100% confident that when the games are for hats and tshirts, that real Brady will be out there, and these overreactions will look silly.
As far as the pass rush, it has been better than last year, and last years was average by NFL standards.
I really dont care what the name of the guy is who is hitting the QB.

Sorry for interupting though, please return to making posts about how many things BB does wrong, and how you know better than he does. Whats next, offensive play calling, or defensive philosophy? Surely with his track record you have a lot to teach him.
