Mocks this early aren't worth much, but this one had some interesting choices for the Pats:

http://draftzoo.com/2009/09/3455/

They have the Pats taking:

30. Rolando McClain, ILB, Alabama. Should make Ochmed happy. With Jonathan Dwyer going #32 to Pittsburgh this is a tough choice for me, but McClain would be a great SILB for us. OT Brian Bulago goes one spot earlier in this mock and would also be an amazing choice, if his medical issues are resolved.

43. Michael Crabtree, WR, Texas Tech. Well, they get points for creativity, if nothing else, suggesting that Crabtree will sit out 2009 and re-enter the 2010 draft. "This is the pride and joy prediction for myself here, because I really don’t think that Crabtree is going to sign with San Fran at this pace in the season. New England is just the type of team to take Michael Crabtree should he re-enter the draft and it looks like the chances that he signs are about 55 % at this point, and every game that ticks by is just another game that Crabtree gets closer to a second draft. Crabtree becomes the WR2 that New England is lacking, and he potentially becomes the steal of the draft if his talent remains the same after a year off." Not sure I see BB going for someone this obstinate/stupid/self-centered, but he certainly has the tools to be an amazing complement to Moss. Moss, Welker, Crabtree and Tate would be pretty amazing. Nice fantasy, but can't see it happening.

44. Sergio Kindle, DE/OLB, Texas. I doubt Kindle lasts this long, but he would be great value and a potentially fine 3-4 OLB, with outstanding size/speed and skills. Derrick Morgan goes one pick later in this mock, and some think he could be a good 3-4 elephant.

62. Marvin Austin, DE/DT, North Carolina. Quite a collection of talent. I can't see Austin lasting this long with his physical tools.

You couldn't pay me to take Crabtree. He seems like a head case. I'll pass. Take out Crabtree and replace him either with an offensive or defensive lineman and that would be a dream scenario. I doubt they all last that long but it would be sweet.

I guess were not winning the SB then.

guess not according to this guy. Need a potential DT/DE in the draft as well with Wilfork, Green both free agents.

It would be great to get Sergio Kindle @ 44 but not sure if he will be there, he has had some off the field problems so who knows.

NO OL? We need to upgrade our OL this offseason and open some running lanes guys. Give me a John Hannah type for 10 yrs.

What "John Hannah type" do you think is available in this draft?

This draft is very weak at the OG position.

I still think we draft at #32, but I am thinking Pittsburgh takes McClain at #30. Farrior looked very old against the Bears.
