Is there anyone who believe that we wouldn't have easily won both game if Tom Brady were close to 100%?

TOM BRADY IS HUMAN? He really is. He is not close to producing as he did in 2007 or before. This reminds me of the situation with Peyton last year. I think it took him half a year to get back into real game shape.

As I thought from before the Seymour trade, I'll be fine with 5-3 at the half. I expect 6-2 or better for the second half with Brady back and in sych with the offense and with defensive improvements and development. And now also with Mayo back.

6-2 would be realistic

5-3 , fair not great

4-4 or 3-4 , we would need a better second half to make the playoffs..

I don't think it's going to take an amazing record to make the playoffs this year. Pittsburgh, San Diego, and the Pats have all stumbled out of the gate. So far, only the Jets have looked consistently good and I don't expect that to last. There will be a 9-7 team in the playoffs this year for the AFC, and at least one of the first-round byes will belong to a 11-5 team.

Parity is back this year...

right now only the saints look like a great team so 9-7 may even get you a playoff spot this year so i would be realy happy with 11-5

I don't know. I gotta give credit to Rex and his 2nd half adjustments. That was quite a scheme they used. I'm not sure Brady has seen that before. It appeared to be a page out of own playbook from the Colts games in our SB seasons.

What are your thoughts about the play calling? It seems to me the defenses have been overplaying the passing game and we've missed opportunities by now committing to the running game. We rushed for over 140 yards last season and then kept five RB's on the roster this season. Why are we not using them? 100 passes vs 40 rushes through two games? It's rare that I second guess Belichick when it comes to strategy but its hard not to question whats going on. The Jets were vulnerable to the run today and yet we played right into their strength. The team that exposes their defense will utilize a balanced attack with an emphasis on the running game. That could be Tennessee next week. They've got what it takes if they bring their "A" game.

After 2 games the Jets look like the best team in the AFC and the Saints like the best team in the NFC. The Giants are 2-0 but have struggled, Minnesota is 2-0 but hasn't played anyone difficult so far, and the Ravens are 2-0 but their defense has not looked dominant. Pittsburgh, San Diego and NE have all had issues. Indy did not look dominant last week.

It's too early to tell. Someone could get hot and dominate, or 11-5 could be the best record in the NFL this year.

Yes i believe that, i just posted this on another thread. It looked to me that most of his passes were way off the mark. If he was in sync i think we would have won both games easily. We'ed be talking about or complaining about something else entirely.

I have to say that the Jets defense contributed greatly to his poor play, they are very good.

Good yes, but not great, and certainly not the best Brady has ever faced. The offense just isnt executing well. Not just Tom, but everyone. Atleast he wasnt sacked

The thing i was noticing was that, on a couple of plays, Tom had time to get the ball off and still showed poor mechanics. Its not like Tom to throw a 10 yard out, off his back foot, when the DE is still a few yards away. He's having issues, and the recievers arent helping matters. I'm still confident they will get their sh*t together by midseason. We just can't lose too many more before then.

I'm with you, but I need one more week to agree 100 percent. I expect Tennessee will bring the crazy next week in an effort to avoid an 0-3 start. I think they'll beat the Jets. The NFC is irrelevant (for our purposes) at this point.

Either Tennessee helps us by giving the Jets a loss, or Tennessee helps us by starting 0-3 and owing us their 2010 2nd round pick. Either way we get something good out of that game.

At this point I think we've all heard enough about future draft picks. I'll take a Titans win:D

I posted that same thing earlier. I it looked like 75% of his pasess were off, and that there were plenty of times he could stand back with no one around him and look down field. He still miss fired.

I'm just giving the jets defense their do, they haven't allowed an offensive TD in two games.

The Manning example is a good one. I remember you bringing that up in an earlier thread, and it really made me re-think Brady's progress.

I didn't watch too many Colts games, but I remember them struggling along, winning a few games they shouldn't have. I think they ran a lot too, even when they weren't having much success, just to have some semblence of balance and not put too much pressure on Manning.

Another team that does this a lot is Tennessee. And I think that would help Tom a lot. If you're only asked to make 25 throws a game, maybe you could make 14 to 18 good throws. When you're asked to make 50 throws a game, you're kind of forcing the issue, and throwing away a lot of downs.
