Say what you want, but the player this offense misses is Jabar Gaffney, Eldeman had a nice outing, but Gaffney was able to be a solid third down reciever.. Galloway is a deep threat, that has been a bust so far.. Brady has thrown 100 passes, and only one I can recall was a deep pass that was picked... With no Welker, a inexperience Eldeman, and a double team of Moss, no one else stepped up, so far this team needs a different option..

I agree 100%. I'll never understand why Gaffney didn't get more recognition for what he gave this team. I'd take him over Galloway any day.

A receiver who catches intermediate passes is not the teams problem ... at all.

I remember that playoff run (06 or 07, can't remember which) Brady went into with zero good receivers (Caldwell, Gabriel, ugh), and then he and Gaffney just started lighting it up. I was like, "Who the hell is this guy and why is he not in my bed?"

As a longtime supporter of Jabar Gaffney, let me just say this: You cannot be serious. This is absurd. Please, please, for the love of God, people need to just STOP. What a disgrace.

So you think Galloway is a better option then Gaffney? I say so far NO WAY. Along with that it didn't take Brady that long to develope chemistry with Gaffney or Caldwell.

Apparently Galloway will blow our soxs off at some point this season.

Serenity now!

Jabar Gaffney? Good grief, people.

In 3 seasons playing for the Pats, Gaffney only produced 4 games where he had more catches than Galloway's 5 catches today.

Now I'm not one for bestowing greatness on the play of Galloway thus far but suggesting that Gaffney is a key player who is missed is, well, absurd.

Edit. It took Gaffney 21 games, over 2 seasons, to equal Galloway's 5 catch total today, his 2nd game as a Patriot.

Gaffney was nearly cut from this team ... several times.

If Gaffney's absence is what's gotten this team so out of sorts, it's time to trade every single player on this offense, starting with the QB that, according to this thread, can't function without Jabar Freakin' Gaffney.

Replace Joey Galloway with Jabar Gaffney today and I doubt you'd have seen a much better outing.

If you blindfolded Gaffney all day, and let him replace Galloway, it would be a push.

yep, that's what I was thinking the whole game, how much this team misses Jabar Gaffney.

Chemistry? Brady didn't look like he had chemistry with much of anyone today.

I don't think that Gaffney would have been any better than Galloway. I think that Galloway did fine as did Edelman. The guys that didn't do fine are Brady and the coaches.

Please.....just stop with the Galloway had 5 catches so everything is OK nonsense. He had 5 catches because Revis had Moss on lockdown and Welker was not playing....therefore he was the best option.

He was thrown to 12 tims and caught 5.....wow....great game.

What the OP was correct on is that Galloway is not producing as many Pats fans hoped a player with his speed/experience would. It too often looks like Galloway doesn't know all the route perturbations yet.....e.g: he breaks it long while Brady is throwing it to the sideline on a 3rd down play. Dropping passes off his hands is also something not expected. Of the 12 throws to him, not all were catchable, but others were plays to be made that were left on the field.

Bottom line.....the Pats needed him to have a big game and 5 receptions in 12 throws is just not a "big game".

Eddelman caught 8 out of 16 attempts with 1 drop......and he is a rookie in his first start.

Let's hope Galloway starts to really come around. The Pat's need another outside threat.

Guys forget Brady is moving around with a huge brace on his leg. Cut the man some slack, it's going to take him a little time to get his skills back.

Galloway had 5 catches for 53 yards. Galloway is 37 years old. Getting paid $1.75 million this year.

Gaffney today was thrown to 6 times, caught 3 passes for 82 yards. Gaffney is 28 years old. Gaffney has chemistry with Brady and experience here. Getting paid roughly $2.5 million a year by Broncos.

Better put that extra $750,000 to good use.
