Are people ACTUALLY worried about the O?

its ironical that we dont run the ball a lot inspite of collecting all those running backs.

It's hard to do when they get 2 yards a pop if they're lucky

They actually ran more effectively today than throwing it. Until BB took Taylor out. He's the only back that was effective today

I'd say I'm a little worried about it given that we can't run without holding and have yet to protect the QB after two games.

No way jose. It's all Brady's nerves and mechanics... Been that way since December 2007, but  but we're probably just imagining teams honing that blueprint...;)

If is was all about Brady it would have been over last Monday...

He and Ben should start a support group.

The Pats need to run more but they are so obsessed with passing it's not even funny. I felt the same way in 2007 but hey it worked 16 times so hard to criticize that. However today they had a drive were they were cramming the ball right down New yorks throat with old man Taylor for first down after first down but when they got down to around the Jet 30 they went back to shotgun and empty on 1st and 10 and went backwards with penalties and incompletions. I have no idea why they switched it up as every carry was very successful up to that point. We all know the Pats have an absolutely GREAT passing game when it's clinking by why not use it more in "cookie jar" like fashion. They can dip into it whenever needed and really keep defenses off balance. Now all opposing defenses that play the Pats just want to pressure Brady to stop there passing game. Why not run at them?

if cassel is behind center today the patriots win comfortably

He was as ineffective as the others when he wasn't breaking a couple of decent gains (8-12 range). We can't get the big one to break because we're not really clearing out defenders and we can't get the short yardage when we have to have it for the same reason...

Seriously. The D has exceeded early expectations. Considering all the losses (especially Seymour and Mayo, who had once been counted on), I'm not losing sleep over the D.

I'm pretty sure that the offense will find it's groove. Edelman for 98 ? Wacko. Let's be thankful it's early. The only thing that is frustrating is the loss was inside the AFCE... conference losses cost this team last year.

The defense has faced two shaky offenses and has failed when needed. The offense has been poor with the exception of a 5 minute stretch in game 1. The special teams have been anything but, with the exception of a forced fumble at the end of last week's game. The coaching staff is getting dominated by its opposition.

You should be losing sleep over pretty much every part of this team right now. Hopefully the training room staff is at the top of its game, because that's pretty much all we have right now.

They switched it up because they were suddenly in 1-30. In fact one of the penalties negated a pass for a first down...

Here is my feeling on the offense. There are a few things that need to be corrected by it is not time to panic at all.

Brady is still rusty, its only is 2nd full game in over a year. Its going to take time. It doesnt help that he didnt have his go to receiver in Welker today, who would have been perfect with quick slants to beat the blitz. Eidelman did a good job filling in for him, but hes no Wes Welker. The O line I though did a decent job today, as much as the Jets blitzed and rushed Brady he wasnt sacked. The recievers need to do a better job of breaking off their routes and getting open.

A big problem today was the play calling. Why couldnt we have tried to throw the ball deep down the field. Try a bomb to Moss and have him up jump Revis. Even send Gallaway deep one on one down the field and have him make a play. Although I must say he and Brady are not on the same page and he hasnt got used to the offense. Also why didnt we run any screens with Faulk or Maroney. We used to be a big screen team, and those would be perfect against the blitz.

No need to panic yet, but we need to most importantly improve on the play calling and red zone O. Brady will be back to his normal self in a few weeks.

It seems that Brady is nowhere near as accurate as he used to be. It could be due to the knee injury or to the fact that he has not played in a year and is rusty. Either way he looks like crap and the poor play of the O-line doesn't help matters.

Anyone thought that it's the coordinator? We did fine with Weis and McDaniels. And well now...

I am not worried about the offense nearly as much as I worried about the coaching and playcalling. 2 consecutive Delay of Game penalties? Gimme a break.

And don't even get me started on punting it with 4th and 4 on the Jets 36 yard line. They gained a net of 16 yards on the punt. Just take your chances and go for it. Virtually nothing to lose.

usually you are a ****ty poster but this is honestly the best post you may have ever made, everything in it is 100% correct

When a defense allows 16 total points, it usually wins. The loss today is squarely on the offense. Brady needs to get it together. I expect it to take 4 weeks - which is what I have said all along. Anything more than that and I will officially become a chicken little ;)

Because he lead the Chiefs to an amazing win today?

Might have if he hadn't thrown a couple of picks...LOL He wasn't gonna save anyone with his brace on, either.

This place continues to amaze me, and not in a good way...

And I was a charter member of the Cassel fanclub...

Deus I agree. The pats really have not played a great offensive team yet. Plus they are putting zero pressure on the QB which is just maddening to watch. No matter how great/awful a QB is you give him that much time he will kill you. They have done a decent job stopping the run and long passes but the short/screen/medium passes they are a step behind.

With that said I blame the O for this loss. However I still say the defense has plenty of holes in it.

"We have become a "Fancy Nancy" type of offense that isn't going to win a championship unless it has a great defense. And, we ain't got one of them either. The Jets played pretty much the whole game with 2 yes 2 f'n Def. linemen and we refused to pound the ball at them and make them play a normal defense. When a team is giving you 5-7 yards off tackle. Take it!! Hell, we averaged barely over 4yds per passing attempt. You aren't going to win many football games that way. We have the personnel to be a more balanced offense. Not sure we have the tenacity/desire to do it."

Yes...I agree
Brady is not Brady yet
the OL is average and not much more
running game below average
poor play calling... no draws,screens
No deep pass as said above

This IS the summary of the game in a nutshell.......and the problems that will face this team this year. To add one thing to what you wrote here....Defense is in a "work in progress.....even god forbid saying it...."re-build" mode......OL IS still a big concern

The hole is in the middle of the field - which means the safties, and certainly the LBS, are shaky.

The Pats are not going very far with this extreme reliance on the pass type of offense. If they can't get teams to play/respect our run game, then we will struggle to make the playoffs at all this year.

We need Galloway to show up.....now.....or sit him down. Speed is meaningless if you can't make the appropriate route adjustments or hold on to the ball.

I am starting to look back with fondness for the 2001 team......not as talented, but they knew how to run the ball and were a physical team. Now....the comments about the Pats turning into the Rams, ring very true.
