dont know if it was brady...

dont know if it was the wr's....

dont know if it was welker not playing....

dont know if it was the refs not throwing the flag when they should have....

dont know if it was the jets defense.....

dont know if it was the playcalling......

dont know if it was the OC.....

but the offense didnt click, and it really should have.....

and the playcalling for one was VERY simple, and repetitive....

I am missing him very, very much.

I miss RAC, whats the point of getting faster on defense if you play a basic vanilla read n react defense all day. How bout mixing in a blitz here n there to keep opposing offenses thinking a little bit.

It's rare I agree with Jay Cutler, but not missing Josh.

Missing 2007 Tom Brady, but he'll be back soon enough.

Did we run ONE screen play? I cannot remember. Isn't that supposed to keep the blitz honest?

No; it keeps a pass rush honest. An overload blitz will get to the QB before the screen can be set up.

I'm beginning to reconsider how important McD was to the offense. I'm not saying Bill O'Brien is a horrible playcaller, and maybe its just rust on Brady's part, but a Matt Cassel-led offense shouldn't be more productive than a Tom Brady-led offense.

LMAO...This place almost cheers me up with how laughably predictable this **** is. Are we seriously starting this crap? After ALLL the threads about his flaws, not we miss him after one loss? This is too funny, this thread has to be a joke.

That, as well as the McDaniels thing.

Just throwing it out there, but isn't Crennel currently unemployed? Probably too late for this year, but I'd love to see him back on our sidelines in 2010. Pees isn't a very good DC, IMO, based on multiple years of track record now. He just doesn't bring a consistent pass rush.

I'd swear I saw NEM in the Pats booth with a headset on.

joke? lol

if we had won, and put up 30, this thread would have been a joke....seing as we went like 0-3 in RZ offense this thread is no joke

Um..Yea lol at this thread.

It's 2 weeks and you fools are already looking for the new OC whipping boy. Give it a rest until mid-season will ya?

Brady will be fine with or without mcdaniels. Peabody gots to go, the defense looks lifeless with him basic ass play calling.

All those guesses and you seem to have missed the usual culprit. Games like these are won and lost in the trenches. DL held up pretty well despite the uncalled for adjustment to open the second half. OL got spanked for most of the day. Lost 5/4 matches and struggled to contain the blitz for more than a couple of seconds. No time for the deep game to develop, and when it occasionally appeared to their were QB/WR disconnects. Or penalties. Not much room underneath as a result nor any time for screens to be developed either. You can't develop a rhythym when that **** happens.

The defense gave up 3 FG's and a TD. If the weapons on this offense can't muster more than 3 FG's the problem isn't with the defense.

That said the halftime adjustment was crap. Had we not left 8 points on the field heading into the locker room I still wouldn't have liked it. But it's not the reason we lost.

I miss Josh, Romeo, Charlie, and even Mangini.

That said, there was no halftime adjustment. That was awful. I can't understand why the hell we can't run the ball more. It's not that we can't and it's not working. Fed Taylor was averaging about 6 yards per carry. I don't think that McDaniels would have done any different. It seems whenever our team goes up against teams with strong defensive lines, we abandon the running game and open up Brady to take shots.

As for the defense, lackluster is the word. I don't think anyone really fears this defense. More importantly, I don't think teams fear going across the middle anymore. I don't think we're very physical on both sides of the ball. I freaking hate the Jests but they were more fired up, more aggressive, and more physical than we were. We looked like we didn't even want to fight.

It's not all doom and gloom. We can change somethings. But, we have to run the ball. We have to get more physical on the offensive and defensive lines. And we really need our safeties and line backers to step up. By the way, was James Sanders on the field today? I'm just curious.

I know that some people are going to over react because I'm questioning the way things are done, but this is a place where we can discuss and that's what I'm doing.

I found the offensive gameplan odd. There was nothing to it. I personally think history has shown they have less success spreading the field against these blitz teams (PHI, BAL, NYG, now NYJ) then if they left more protection in. 3 wide, 1 te, 1 rb, all game long - I would've liked to see how a 2TE-2RB set would've fared.
