Well, that is a little rough......... I'm not gonna lie though. I am extraordinarily disappointed with the performance of this site at the times I want it most.

I really don't post at all or visit MB's during games, and I rarely post at all, but, I'll take this board over the douche nozzels over at PatriotsPlanet any day.

it was fine then in the middle of the 3rd it completely wiped out on me for the longest time. I'm not going to complain because i know he's doing the best he can. I'd like to know why the live thread feature was turned off though, just curious.

I didn't close it - I was reading the other threads and didn't see this.

No - I'm not pocketing your money. The site started off slow and we made some modifications that made it run well for most of the game until just after halftime where my tech had to leave for 15-minutes. Things were running well, and then we had a spike that I couldn't balance on my end, and it was down for 30-minutes. When he came back he had the datacenter install a device for him to monitor it, before they rebooted it, and we're currently discussing a load balancing device that it appears I'm going to need to have them install. So that's what I've been doing this afternoon.

Hopefully that clears things up.

The Live Topic function creates more AJAX server queries which causes the load to go up with that many people on the site. If we get the load balancing device installed I should be able to enable it again. I'll keep you posted on this.

If you were here for much of the game, you'll probably agree that today was definitely much better, so we're getting there. They installed another device prior to when it came back up in the 3rd which made a big difference, and we just made another configuration change which helped. So this won't go on for much longer. The problem is you can't simulate this until it happens, and you can't see the problems and how it responds to the changes until we have a busy time. But we're definitely getting there - and I'm definitely more encouraged now than I was after last week.

That would have just been a momentary glitch if my browser hadn't froze and I lost my connection. At that point I was stuck because I had to wait - unfortunately I'm a web guy, not a server guy By the time he came back it was stuck and we had to wait for them to install a device and for it to reboot.
