As of Sunday AM 4 are known...Mayo, Slater, Connolly and Wheatley....who will the other 4 be???
I am thinking Edelman and Pryor....esp Pryor since they are bringing in a lot of DLs for depth...my thinking is he's out for a bit...
Last week they made inactive 3 OL...but I wonder if Neal is still able to play if they might not keep another active..just in case. Obvious the extent of the injury is important and the large factor. I would say one offensive lineman for sure... and..depending on Ninkovich's condition...If he is injured and unable to play...Green-Ellis will be active.
I would say for the last two..Green-Ellis and Simmons...and keeping 8 OL active...but that's just a hunch. I would rather the situation be that they deactivate 3 and keep another player for ST...

I think Edleman plays. Just a crazy hunch. Pryor could be out. Hard to tell who else will be. Neal was on the list, but...

I would love it if Edelman played...hard to tell after the 4...Pryor I think will be out...the whole situation with Neal is a bit odd...added later in the week..could be nothing...could even be a scratch..and THAT would hurt. I am hoping Ninkovich plays..team needs all the LB ST help they can muster.

Listen to you... hoping Ninko plays... wow. We HAVE had an evolution since 04 haven't we ? There was a time NE had guys like Colvon or Phifer on the bench... now we've got guys like Woods and Ninko playing significant minutes.

I was a "don't bash Woods" guy in the offseason. But that was when I thought the other 10 guys were going to be better than average. We'll see... you like Ninko that much ? Hope you're right.

Welker played last week... should be OK this week too, I'D think. Maybe we get our first look at some funky Welker-Edelman slot party combo.

beside the 4 out already
by guess is
Green-Ellis, Neal/Ohrnberger , Pryor, Matthews

If Neal's back is really hurting and Simmons has picked up the system
well enough they might do this. Simmons certainly has the experience.

I'm really hoping Edelman and Welker can both go.

If Neal is good to go then Ohrnberger may be the other oline guy left behind

There is NO WAY Ninkovich DOESN'T play. He may even start. I'm not sure people are aware of this, but we're a mite thin at linebacker.

What John said.

No chance we leave a LB on the inactive list (besides Jerod obviously).

Matthews, Neal or Ohrny, BJGE and Pryor/Edelman

The wheatley injury concerns me. Leaves the secondary a bit thin.

Bodden, Wilhite, Springs, Butler
Meriweather, Sanders, Chung, McGowan

Not thin to me.

Ninkovich is a solid ST player..besides that the LB depth is not all that deep..so OF COURSE I'd rather that he's active than not..but obviously not if he's injured of course. With Mayo out..there really is little depth there...and thinner with Ninkovich inactive.

Green-Ellis, Edelman, Pryor, and one of Simmons/Neal/Wendell

I think that Wheatley would be inactive even if healthy. 9 active DB's is plenty (the 8 you list plus Lockett.

Bodden, Wilhite, Springs, Butler
Meriweather, Sanders, Chung, McGowan

Not thin to me.

Wilhite scares me - not because he can't be good. He can. He just seems fragile to me. Chung couldn't cover my Grandmother in the open.

Bodden and Springs are fine starting corners. Butler seems ready to be the nickel.

Wilhite could be anywhere from the time back to replacing Springs as a starter. He is probably the best dime back we've had this decade. If he is fragile, which I don't believe, then perhaps he won't be given as many reps.

This is certainly as good a group of four as we've had in a few years.

And Chung is the #4. He won't play much if at all in the regular defense, especially in coverage. The group of Meriweather, Sanders and McGowan is a solid set of safeties.

I would add that Wilhite started for much of last year and looked OK for a rookie.

So Ohrenberger is active?? I would have added him into the mix of inactives...but I agree..they need 5 interior lineman this week..3 starters 2 backups..THAT is if Neal is playing but not close to 100%.

Wendell is our top interior line backup alongside Simmons. It would be Ohrny who doesn't play.

Welker is out. ****
