its on nfln tommorow morning but they showed a clip with faulk instigating him .Asked seymour how he was informed and he said belichick called him and told him.Faulk said you have been a patriot all your life and followed the patriot way and there was no sit down etc. seymour replies, i wouldnt have done it that way etc..
more tommorw but sounds like a bitter man

No need to bash Seymour, he was a hell of a player for us for eight years and a leader for three of our championship teams. The fact that he is not happy about being traded from NE does not make him a jerk.

So the NFLN picked a guy who is still bitter about losing to a team eight years ago to interview a player and ask him how he feels about being traded away from that same team.

Has anyone stopped to think that perhaps BB did Seymour a FAVOR by calling him so Richard would have every last possible minute to prepare for his move? Did he expect BB to hop in his car and show up on his doorstep unannounced with the "shocking" news? Or send him a telegram? Or summon him to his office in Foxboro so he could be pissed over missing breakfast/lunch/dinner with his children?

I've had enough of this "insensitive BB" nonsense. No doubt Faulk will pile it on.

There is more to this than Seymour is divulging, and we will probably never know the whole story unless somewhere along the line BB writes another book.. to take this step at this juncture, there has to be more to it.

All very true....I wonder how the usual procedure is when a player is traded and the team is not at the stadium?? My guess is that if the team is not around, the player is called...JUST a hunch that is always how it's done...

It's an interesting question. I always just assumed, perhaps mistakenly, that the proper decorum involved calling the player before he learns it another way, i.e the media. On the Dale and Holley Show in the aftermath of the trade, both hosts offered the opinion that a phone call would have been inadequate, given Seymour's history with the team, and that a visit to Seymour's home to deliver the news would have been more appropriate. I'm not sure I agree. I have never been a fan of showing up at someone's home unnannounced, although I suppose BB could have called and asked if he could visit to discuss something. In that event, being the smart guy Richard is it's my guess he would have figured out right away that something unpleasant was going on and would have demanded to know what on the phone. And when he was told, something tells me a visit to the Seymour residence would have been out of the question. It's obvious Seymour is upset and will be for a long time. Any media member trying to get him to say anything positive about BB right now would be on a fool's errand. Getting Seymour to speak ill of Belichick would not be difficult. Having Faulk to the interview just makes it that much easier.

Yeah, I agree. I understand him being upset, but I have trouble feeling sorry for someone who earns over 200K dollars 16 times per year. It really never bothers me how much athletes make. I feel that whatever they can get is good for them. But given what they do make and given that they ought to know that being traded at the drop of a hat is a possibility, my sympathy is limited, to say the least.

Exactly... they can make all the cash they want. Good for them. But they shouldn't forget the nature of their work (I know Seymour mentionned it a few times). They need to travel & move when necessary.

I'd rather have my job any day than theirs. But this whole "woe is me" stuff some of them try to pull is a bit much... Notice how none of them ever give up professional football to become "regular job" workers ? So... it must not be THAT bad...

People rip his "classiness", but in the end, he'll be the classiest of them all. I'd be surprised (yet delighted) if BB ever writes a tell-all. I think he subscribes to the "honor among the NFL" philosophy. Hope I'm wrong.
