Williams to Reserve-Injured, Coleman signed to active roster
The San Diego Chargers placed defensive tackle Jamal Williams on Reserve-Injured with a tricep injury. Williams will miss the remainder of the ’09 season.

To fill Williams’ place on the active roster, the team signed defensive end Andre Coleman from its practice squad.

Williams placed on Reserve-Injured

That should pretty much eliminate them from Super Bowl contention.

Yeah, they are done. He pretty much fuels everything they do on defense as any NT would in a 3-4. Sucks for them. I heard the classiest man in America was also injured.

As a Patriots fan, having had to watch the ridiculous number of injuries the Pats have had to deal with in the past 10 years, I can only say...

Not enough Norvicaine? Or too much?

Jamal Williams goes down and Tomlinson is banged up pretty good himself.

Looks like the window of opportunity to win a championship is closing on such a talented team and also Turner's reign as coach.

The team that the Chargers probably do not want to play this week is the team they ARE playing,One of the most physical teams in the NFL,the Ravens.

Thats a BIG blow to their D. If the Pats can find a way to get to 11-5, 12-4 and build up to having a good defense than can make stops, they should get a 1st round bye. Not alot of juggernaughts out there...

Maybe we can trade wilfork for their first rounder. Would you do that?

I remember before this year started I said the pats would be reluctant to sign wilfork for 7M / year as he was good but not great in their system. Some CLOWN told me it was totally ignorant, the most ignorant thing he'd read on the board and the patsies would sign wilfork post haste. Where is that jerk now?

I think they're going to have to plan for life without him anyways, he's what, 33 now? Massive blow for them this season anyways.

Jenkins is just a matter of time too given his history of injuries. His back problems aren't going away IMO. I doubt he holds up 16 games.

what would it take for the chargers to get ron brace from the pats?

larry english and a 2010 2nd rounder?

The asking price would start at a 1 in 2010. The Classers are just a wee bit closer to an SB than teh Raiders.

Williams was a monster....
I remember a game against the Pats a couple years ago.
He pushed Koppen into the backfield like he was a child.

In the pre-season I was watching a Chargers game and they were saying
that this was going to be Williams last season.

This is a huge loss for SD.

Jenkins clearly didn't hold up last season, and his 2nd half decline along with that of Favre was probably the biggest element of the Jets' collapse. He's already starting this season banged up with back problems. He'll be lucky to last half a season playing effectively.

The Charger's window is closing fast. LD and Jamal Williams were huge parts of their success. Sproles is terrific, but I don't think he's proben that he can carry the load over a full season as the main guy.

The irony is that we used the Charger's #47 pick last year to trade up to #40 with Oakland and target Brace.

Much as we need a pass rusher and could use Larry English, the value of having Brace and Wilfork together in the middle is huge.

Yeah he's going to wear down game by game, jets better hope he lasts without him there done.

That would just be a horrible decision all the way around. As for Wilfork signing an extension, he and the Pats have all season to hammer that out.
