The reference was quick and keep in mind this was recorded wed.

But he seemed to say Mayo is a quick healer and we hope to have him back next week (not sure if he was refering to this weeks game or the following one which is why I mentioned the record date).

Now he could have just been blowing smoke or maybe I just heard what I wanted to hear. Anyone else see it and have a comment on it???

Based on what I've read, if Mayo is back next week, I'll eat my hat.

I would say the only way this would be true would be if those reports were false or over exagerated...not to crazy a notion.

good one Rayclay :D

anyone actually hear what he said?

well, for what its worth, at the beginning we we're hearing 6-8 weeks, and that has since dropped to 3-6 weeks.

You heard what you wanted to hear... He did say he's a quick healer, though.

Great program overall, lots of locker room footage, the party at Kraft's, and a tour of football ops with Zo. Nice tidbit of Rodney at halftime giving Meriweather a step up and be a playmaker peptalk...:D

It's up on the website now:

If it was as bad as everyone is saying wouldn't he be put on IR till week 6?

Not to let the truth get in the way of a good story but BB said we hope to have him back as soon as possible. He didnt say next week.

i just watched the show.anyone think in the belistrator segement, zolak was trying to show of his football knowledge and BB kept correcting him ? Zolak starts with "lets start with the rookie qb". BB says ,actiually this is RB jones.
Then BB shows a play with the fullback leading the run and zolak goes..no one uses the traditional fullback anymore and bb responds "over half the league has them, about 18 teams"
i found it quite funny.

He won't be back till after the bye. Now, when I snap my fingers, move on.

All Patriots fans should have learned by now that any reports regarding Patriots injuries are pure speculation by the media. The team doesn't give out that kind of info. Likely, one of our hometown "haters" in the media (Felger, Borges?) put it out there to get everybodies panties in a bunch.

I have been saying 3-6 weeks for a while now. Glad to know people are coming around.

Coming around to what? No one knows exactly when Mayo will be back.

I spoke with one the the trauma orthopedic surgeons I work with about Mayo's injury. Not having seen his MRI, his view was that MCL injuries (including tears) are generally treated non-operatively, and that 6-8 weeks is the usual recovery time for a grade II or III injury. He thought that Mayo might well be able to come back sooner, possibly as early as 4 weeks, but that he would be at increased risk for re-injury by rushing back, and cited the example of Jerry Rice, who had an ACL tear in 1997 and came back 14 weeks later only to fracture his patella.

I think it's fair to say that the Pats are playing this day-to-day and week-to-week. I'm sure their team orthopedists will have a lot of input, and a lot will depend on how conservative or aggressive the organization (and Mayo) chooses to be.

My best guess is still that he's out until after the bye week. But it's just a guess.

Right, but we don't know that its even a grade II or III. Its all supposition.

Of course it is. Which is why I said that it's likely day-to-day and week-to-week. It's hard to "come around" to a point of view on the injury when we don't know the details as to what it is. My guess is based on the assumption that there is an MCL injury, but as I said, it's just a guess at this time.

Bill Belichick told Mayo to use some of this with his burgers.

Funny how ones mind can play tricks on you...I could have sworn he said next week :D I was with my pops and I got all excited and said did he just say that we both agreed no way he returned that soon but he didn't correct me but he probably didn't hear it incorrectly either.

I went back and watched a second time and he wasn't even close to saying that he didn't even use the words weeks no we will see in a few weeks just said as soon as possible.
