that's a nice gesture...class kind of thing...

my only thought on the McKelvin affair is that McKelvin is lucky he doesn't live in Colombia...the US upset the Colombian national team during the World Cup in 1994 (if you're not a soccer fan, at the time that was viewed by the soccer world kind of like the Harvard Varsity beating the Pats in a game where the Pats played their first string would be viewed today--in other words, "WTF?")...

...anyway, to make a long story short, the US was aided in that victory by an "Own Goal" (i.e., a Colombian player accidentally knocked the ball into his own goal, resulting in a point for the USA)...the poor guy was shot and killed outside a nightclub in Bogotá a few weeks later...

That behavior was never, in my opinion, representative of the Buffalo fan base. Their fans are rabid, illogical, and scathing in their perspectives. But, guess what - so are we. I have hated the Bills at times (my wife is correct when she claims I hate everybody (read: every team). But, at least their fans are unfailingly loyal and committed to their team and, for that I applaud them. Now, as for the fans of the AFCE team 250, or so, miles southeast of Buffalo - that's another story entirely. If the Patriots go up by 14 points in the first or second quarter Sunday, watch the rats evacuate the sinking ship.

I'm not giving up my money because some kids spray-painted McKelvin's lawn...McKelvin, the guy that just fumbled the game away.

We're talking about two 16-year-old kids that haven't seen the Bills beat the Patriots since they were 10...maybe seen them win ONCE since they were seven. Not that that makes it right, but we aren't talking about a dangerous situation here.

Amazing that I, being a Bills fan, am being asked to be put into a position to not only feel sympathy for the guy that more than likely blew what was perhaps Buffalo's most important regular season game of the year, but actually asked to give up my own money for it...over a guy that makes millions.

I think they painted a picture of a penis and captioned it "kneel down ******" along with the score they felt he was responsible for. That's what I heard.

It's just kids.

To tell you the truth, I don't really forgive him for what HE did yet. I'm not over it. I could really care less about his lawn being painted. Running it out was one thing, but fighting for the extra yard in the situation we were in was just plain stupid. I think we didn't even have our regular blockers in there because we half-way anticipated an onside kick. New England was thinking about one thing, stripping the ball...watch it again and you'll see that NE wasn't in a hurry to tackle him. McKelvin was thinking about one thing, being a hero in a situation that didn't call for it.

Wow...sleep well tonight.

What? McKelvin screwed up royally.

I don't really see the correlation between his yard being vandalized by kids and being asked to give my money to Kids Escaping Drugs.

Waht I've always been talking about...the topic of the thread.

Read the link on the first post, then maybe you can begin to discuss the topic of the thread as well. Basically, there have been people suggesting that we donate money to McKelvin's charity (Kids Escaping Drugs) because his lawn was vandalized by two 16-year-old kids. Bills players have suggested the same on Twitter.

Thank you.

Although, I think Brady has a larger line of credit with the Patriots than McKelvin does with the Bills.

...and it's not a question of cleaning up what the kids did. It's a question of donating money to McKelvin's charity to show him some support. But he's in my doghouse right now, regardless of some teenage prank...like I can afford to give up my money and pretend to care about some charity I didn't care about yesterday.

In short, McKelvin's yard was vandalized by some kids, therefore I should give money to Kids Escaping Drugs...the logic doesn't follow. What does follow is that fans should be generally upset with McKelvin at the moment. Showing him some support right now is super sweet, but I'm just not feeling it. Maybe he can console himself with his millions of dollars in the meantime.
