Which is ample reason for Kraft to plan on extending Brady sooner than later. Either at the tail end of this season to use up any cap space they can't rollover or early on in 2010.

Of course it's not entirely Irsay's call since Condon forced them to tag Manning in 2004 before they finally hammered out the 7 year $98M deal with the $34.5M signing bonus. And they're stuck with some amortization already pushed out into his voidable seasons (2011-2012)

I don't know, I might consider extending Wilfork first (this year) and then extending Brady next year.

Manning got his current deal before Brady got his current deal and it was much higher. In fact, Vick had his deal too and it was higher than Brady's deal. Brady knowingly took less than Manning or Vick. I am sure he will not screw over the Pats by demanding a crazy contract.

Wilfork can be tagged. Brady will be more reasonable market wise and a better value in a potential lockout...Tommy makes Bob money off the field, too.

depends on the definition of "screw over." I think he'll want to be one of the two or three most highly paid QB's in the league, but not "the" most highly paid...i think that's reasonable and i hope he gets it...to me that feels like $40 guaranteed and $14 or so per year...

i would love to see them sign wilfork now but i dont think they will do anything befor the end of the year

and even there i still think they will give mankins the tag

i think wilfork will get offerd big money in the open market and not come back

as far as brady go's i think he will be easyer to resign he will not be looking to get over paid like wilfork and mankins will be brady wants a big payday but will take less to stay a pat
