Re: Mayo Spotting

He's made of glass.

Re: Mayo Spotting

Not so encouraging.

Not so encouraging.

The type of sprain he has is bad enough that he needs to keep his weight off of it and keep it in a brace for a week or two. It sucks for us because we were looking forward to seeing him this year, but he'll be back. Knock on wood, but it shouldn't require surgery.

Re: Mayo Spotting

I was walking with a cane two days after a knee replacement. It doesn't mean that I was in shape for a sports event anytime soon after.

This information doesn't tell us much.

is it at least a little encouraging that he was spotted in the first place?

Re: Mayo Spotting

fact that he is spotted can be taken +vely also. anything serious BB wouldnt let guys be seen or heard.

Re: Mayo Spotting

I think its a good sign that hes in the locker room with the guys, Brady wasnt even near the locker room after his injury last year

Re: Mayo Spotting

I saw Mayo... IN MY SANDWICH.

Re: Mayo Spotting

****tttttttttttt. Well we gotta move on lets GO GUYTON!

Re: Mayo Spotting

The guys at PFW in Progress think it wasn't by accident Mayo was spotted, even claiming (half-jokingly) he'll be in uniform Sunday.

Everything in Foxboro is done for a reason. Now, if only I knew the meaning . . . :D

Re: Mayo Spotting

Cassel has the same injury (IMO) and he wasn't spotted in KC for two weeks. Week 3 (1) he was a game time decision sporting alimp and a knee brace. This week (approaching 4 weeks out) he is taking limited practice snaps and limping less noticably and is likely genuinely a game time decision. Takes a little longer when the rehab is for ILB. If Mayo was going out he would have likely disappeared altogether by now. Instead he will be in every meeting and getting treatment and we'll be finding out if he's a quick or slow healer. If there is genuine doubt Bill errs on the side of moving on. He only waits on guys he's pretty confident will be back sooner than later because roster spots are too valuable week to week.

Re: Mayo Spotting

I guess this seems good for the long term. I guess I was just hoping for a miracle and to hear reports of Jerod moonwalking and doing splits at practice.

Gawd help us with Guyton. He was horrible on Monday night. He better be practicing screen passes and runs up the guy otherwise it will be a long night.

He wasn't horrible and as Dean Pees astutely pointed out that was after a week of second team reps practicing to back up Mayo in the 3-4 all week...and instead being asked to lead the defense in the 4-3...

So we should see a huge improvement this week against the Jets?

You do know they have Leon Washington running the screens up over there.

Yup, and i know we've handled him and those in the past. I also know that we weren't prepared for the Bills to be running screens out of certain formations because that wasn't what the film/scouting showed. And because the game plan called for taking away Edward's two top WR (Owens and Evans, heard of them?) while committing to stopping the run, I realize you cannot stop everything...let alone after losing your defensive captain 11 minutes in. Absent the pick 6 Buffalo put up 17. I remember a worse Buffalo squad putting up 31 against us when we had the greatest defense in dynasty history in the making and Brady was still perceived as a potential one and done system QB. How'd that turn out...
