He showed some serious quicks on that breakup he had. From the small sample we've seen he looks like he may be part of the solution at CB. I actually wanted him in the first round, I was thrilled to trade down and still get him.

He wasn't my choice at 23 or 34, but I think he could have been justified at either spot. The Phins should have taken him at 25 over Vontae Davis. We were lucky to get him at 41, I agree.

It's not very often you get a player with his hips, footwork, acceleration, hand technique, and ball skills in the frame that he has. It's also not very often you get a player like that at 41, especially in a weak draft year. I think it's going to be between him and Vollmer when we look at this draft three years from now and evaluate who was the best player to come out of this one.

By the way, I got the chance to review some of the Jets/ Houston game....our homie was on the field. He looked exceptional.

I agree about Butler and Vollmer being future studs. I'm not sure yet about Brace - he could be a nice widebody, or a real difference maker, I'm not sure which. Chung will be fine, but I would have preferred Barwin.

Um, while I assumed Butler would see playing time regardless, it might be worth noting that Wheatley was inactive with a knee injury.

i dont know. barwin didnt impress me much. he is a rookie, but he looks lanky and slow, not explosive like an OLB/DE should be

I had recalled that folks were surprised to see Wheatley was inactive. I had forgotten that he was last on the injury report as questionable with a knee injury.
