NFL TV Distribution Maps

Pats game shown on most of the eastern seaboard with the exception of Philly, DC and Atlanta; game is also on through most of the southeast, in Dallas, and in much of the southwest.

Edit: Greg Gumbel and Dan Dierdorf are the announcers.

fantastic .oak@kc and sea@SF for me

I can't for the life of me figure out why there is no game shown in Philly.

Greg Bumbel and Dierdoff, what happened to Sims and what's his name???

My TV magically brings me EVERY game. :D

I'm not 100% sure on what causes it, but it has something to do with the home team on the other network. You'll notice that Atl, DC, & Det, all don't have a 1:00 cbs game. It may be due to there being no 4:00 game on Fox, but not sure.

PS: GB & Cincy? :( was hoping for Pats/Jets.

Ugh I get Houston and Tennessee

PM me when you get a chance. I have a solution.

EDIT: Oh, and for one week, I am glad that I am out of Jacksonville and back in South Florida. Being that I'm in a Dolphins market right now, every Dolphins game that doesn't air at 1:00 will force CBS to air a game of the top team in the division. In this case, I'm getting two of the top teams in the division. Let's hope that the Pats lay that claim for themselves after this week...

Because CBS has the double header they are saving crew #1 for the late game.
Pittsburgh @ Chicago: Jim Nantz, Phil Simms

Thanks for posting. Looks like the bar or my bud's house (DTV) for the game out here in Denver.

Sadly here in Minny we are getting the Packers game for the early CBS one. Followed by the Pats being on Fox for week 3 which means another week of no Pats in MN since the Vikes also play the early one on Fox.

At least there's the RedZone channel on Comcast.

Reason is the NFL blacks out certain games in a home market - one blackout if the game doesn't sell out, and another blackout if the game does sell out!

Most everybody is familiar with blackout rules when a stadium does not sell out: no tv within 75 miles. But there's another, less familiar rule for when the game does sell out. In that case there can be no other game on tv at the same time as that home game. That's why there are no cbs games on at 1:00 in Atlanta, DC, Philly or Detroit.

The theory is that it will prevent somebody who already has tickets from staying home to watch a better game. In my opinion there are several holes in that logic. If they really want to watch another game that badly and presumably don't have Sunday Ticket, there are plenty of sports bars within the vicinity of every NFL city to watch those other games. If they think the local game is so bad that they're not going to use those tickets, they're probably not going to go anyways. But if the NFL still really thinks the rule is going to make a difference, why enforce it so early in the season?

The rule may also be put in to place to insure the local station and that network get bigger ratings by being the only game on tv. I suppose I could buy that, but I would think at the end of the season there would be more total viewers and advertising revenue by broadcasting those extra three or four games in each market over the course of the year. It may also be one more subtle way to get out of town fans to purchase the Sunday Ticket.
