With Mayo presumably out for the Jets game, could Paris Lenon be headed back to the roster? I recently read ( I believe in Patriots Football Weekly ), that Ninkovich has played some middle linebacker at both New Orleans and Miami. Still, my guess is that Lenon would be a more likely backup to Guyton should he rejoin the roster.

Hard to say, who would you release to make room for Lenon since Mayo's not going on IR?

Reiss said in his mailbag today he thought there was a chance Lenon would be back but added he had also worked out for the Rams yesterday.

Egh i wouldnt sign anybody else unless Mayo was out 3 weeks +

It would be pointless

I think we currently have 10 offensive lineman on the roster so I think Wendell or

Connolly could be candidates. Although if I have my vote it would be a 40 year old invisible wide receiver ( mentioning no names ).

That is false. Ninkovich played 4-3 DE with the Saints and 3-4 OLB with the Dolphins.

I'll find the story saying he played some ILB with both Miami and New Orleans. Maybe I can even find a link, give me a few minutes.

Good question...

But what I really want to know is .... IS ADAM FREAKING SEWARD STILL AVAILABLE?????????????????????

Dolphins signed LB Rob Ninkovich off their practice squad.
Ninkovich, a former Purdue Boilermaker, lost out to Quentin Moses for a spot on the club in training camp. "Nink" can play inside and outside linebacker.

I doubt we sign anyone because I strongly believe we do a 4-3 next week in which case Guyton shifts to mike and Woods to will.

The Dolphins signed inside linebacker Rob Ninkovich
The Dolphins signed inside linebacker Rob Ninkovich off their practice squad Saturday and placed guard Matt McChesney on injured reserve.

Rob Ninkovich, DE NE
News: DL Rob Ninkovich, drafted by the Saints in 2006, was signed off of the Dolphins' practice squad on Wednesday. Ninkovich had been playing inside linebacker at Miami, but came to New Orleans as a defensive end out of Purdue.

Well, he played some OLB in preseason. Fish switched to 3-4 in 2008 and Nink had a total of two tackles, as an OLB?

Released in August, PS until one game with no stats in November, then released to NO.

Really stretching on this one.

I guess if you don't play, you can not play at multiple positions.

His one year in the 3-4, 2008

He was released by the team on August 31[6] and re-signed to the practice squad on September 3.[7]

On November 15, 2008, Ninkovich was promoted to the active roster when guard Matt McChesney was placed on injured reserve.[8] He played against the Oakland Raiders in a reserve role on November 16 but did not record any tackles. On November 20, he was released to make room for linebacker Erik Walden. Ninkovich was re-signed to the practice squad the following day.

Ninkovich signed off the Dolphins' practice squad by the New Orleans Saints on December 3, 2008. He was released on July 30, 2009 after the Saints signed Jason Kyle.

I think if BB liked Lenon more than he likes Ninkovich, he wouldn't have cut Lenon.

Has anyone seen Justin Rodgers sign with anyone. I thought he had a good preseason with Pats his rookie year but didn't make 53 and Dallas signed him. I saw Dallas cut him a few weeks ago and wondered if they'd give him a look given their situation. He has good size, 6'4" - 250, and I thought made a few good plays when given chance. I know it's sad to be talking about a street FA after week #1 but I thought they were thin to bein with and Mayo's absence makes them very weak inside.

Patriots Football Weekly, 9/2/09 issue, page 28, column 2, "Belichick opts for Ninkovich who has been active in the preseason and has some experience playing inside and out from his days in Miami and New Orleans."

Hart or Perillo (I'm assuming it's one of them since they've been on high on him since they first talked to him and learned he was a LS, a commonly-known fact) is wrong, as far as I know.

He was waived/injured and then placed on IR.

He was released with an injury settlement shortly thereafter. He is free to sign with any team.
