Anyone else notice a brief camera shot of BB, closing his eyes and looking upward? It looked like he was praying. Do you think god paid BB a professional courtesy?

No, it was right after the AD "roughing call". If he was praying, it went something like this.

"Please lord, give me the strength not to choke the sh!t out of Thomas for that bone-headed play after the game. Amen"
:D

If that was a penalty, the rules are seriously screwed up. I don't pretend to know every rule but slamming a QB into the ground without your body weight on top of him should not be a penalty.

I'm not sure whom god watches on Sunday, but I know it's not the Patriots. Otherwise, he wouldn't have ripped up their quarterback's knee, and then brought them to 11-5 only to leave them on the outside looking in. Nor is he a Jets fan, by the way. I know that only because of the multiple stab wounds in my back dating from the early 1970's forward.

I agree, but I bet he listens when BB speaks... and decided to grant BB a favor as a professional courtesy.

Ummmmmmm, I don't know. Whistle was clearly blown before he tossed em'. I thought it was a penalty last night, and more importantly this morning when I watched it again (sober :D)

The Wilfork one was total BS.

God asks Herm Edwards first: "What do you believe?" Herm thinks long and hard, looks God in the eye, and says, "I believe in hard work, and in staying true to family and friends. I believe in giving. I always try to do right by my fans."
God can't help but see the essential goodness of Edwards, and offers him a seat to his left.

Then God turns to Norv Turner and says, "What do you believe?" Norv says, "I believe passion, discipline, courage and honor are the fundamentals of life.
I've always tried to be a true sportsman, both on and off the playing field."
God is greatly moved by Norv's sincere eloquence, and offers him a seat to his right.

Finally, God turns to Bill Belichick: "And you, Bill, what do you believe?"
Bill replies, "I believe you're in my seat."

Rex Ryan, after living a full life, died. When he got to heaven, God was showing him around. They came to a modest little house with a faded Jets flag in the window. “This house is yours for eternity, Rex,” said God. “This is very special; not everyone gets a house up here.”

Rex felt special, indeed, and walked up to his house. On his way up the sidewalk, he noticed another house just around the corner. It was a 3-story mansion with a blue and red sidewalk, a 50 foot tall flagpole with an enormous Patriots logo flag, and in every window hung a red Patriots towel.

Rex looked at God and said “God, I’m not trying to be ungrateful, but I have a question. I was a great coach, my defenses were legendary.”

“So what’s your point Rex?”, God asked.

“Well, why does Bill Belichick get a better house than me?”

God chuckled, and replied “Rex, that’s not Bill’s house, it’s mine.”

I agree with you. The one on Wilfork was just BS, but the minute the Thomas throwdown happened, I knew there would be a flag.

Perhaps it shouldn't. I think it is indeed against the rules. As with all controversial calls, this call will be reviewed this week and discussed on NFLN. At least that's what happened in the past. If there is a need to inform all refs to make sure they understand whether body slamming a quarterback is a penalty, then it will happen before the weekend.

Unfortunately, that joke hasn't been current since the week after Tedy Bruschi returned from the Pro Bowl.

yeah, i kind of thought it was more a "rolling of the eyes in frustration" than a "raising of the eyes in prayer"...

Pray to who? We all consider him god.
