Apparently there's a clear reason Moss is a team captain aside of his on-field production.

Check this little nugget out I found in Steve Wyche's column today:

Pats' rally over Bills proves quality teams rise to occasion under pressure

In the Patriots' locker room, there were few smiles. The ones that were on display were mainly on the faces of young players, like Brandon Meriweather, who caused McKelvin's fumble.

Randy Moss, who had 12 catches for 141 yards, sought out New England's wideouts after showering. He wasn't trying to get them together for dinner or to hang. He wanted to know if any of them were going to join him between 8 and 9 a.m. Tuesday -- players' day off throughout the NFL -- to watch film. They're coming.

Re: Randy Moss has become a great leader.

That's awesome. I also liked this part about Burgess:

Burgess was in an odd mood, despite getting a sack, quarterback hurry and three tackles. Strangely, he felt for the Bills.

"It was different because I haven't been in a big game like that in awhile," Burgess said. "It feels good to know the white flag doesn't ever come up. It has to be a tough feeling for them because they did such a great job. Somebody's got to lose, though. That's how this game is."

Burgess knows about losing and white flags being waved all too well. He played for the Raiders the past four seasons, so gutting out a win was something different, for sure. After speaking his peace, Burgess packed up his Bible and said, "We won but we have to get back to the drawing board if we're going to go anywhere this season."

Good to hear about an attitude change. He should only get better as the year goes on.

Randy Moss is the best.

Moss wants a ring so badly he can taste it.

I am amazed by the way Moss carries himself now and the amount of leadership he displayed yesterday. I love Welker's intensity, but he can be a bit emotional at times. Last night Moss was just utterly intense, confident and inspiring. Reminded me of vintage TFB in terms of leadership.

Thanks, that was a good article. This team is special. Pray for their health.

Randy's post game press conferences are absolutely the best.

Re: Randy Moss has become a great leader.

Moss loves to play Football. Loves to Win. He was made for nights like last night. You could see the pure joy in his heart on the sidelines during the 4th. He just knew they were going to win. Brady looked INTENSE. Moss just looked happy.

You really have to feel for Seymour, because he is now on the exact opposite end of the stick as evidenced by the finish last nite in Oakland. Gonna be a long year for Sey, I hope he doesn't renegotiate anything, keeps his head high for the next 4 months, and then gets the heck out of town. Maybe he'll want back on the Pats at one of those "veteran discounts" now that he knows what it's like outside of Gillette.

Re: Randy Moss has become a great leader.

Moss was cheering for his teammate and motivating the offense in the huddle. Funny part was when he's waving his towel for the Pats D with Brady right next to him. They were so close to each other, I thought the towel might hit Brady.

I love Randy Moss. The guy has grown up tons since his rookie year. He was always a hard worker though.

After Seau, Moss is the next guy I really hope gets a ring before all is said and done.
