Is it just me or do I really detect that the Raiders D somehow has a new identity, with Sey in there- it's almost as if they have a sense of pride and want to be consummate players.

Seymour is having a real impact tonight with 2 sacks and 3 hurries.

I know the trade will pay off in an year or two, but man does it hurt to see him eat up a double-team and beat Rivers into the ground.. in another uniform... :(

Raiders look primed to pull out the upset.

everything that has worked for the chargers has happened with seymour on the bench

Don't discount Ellis.

im happy for seymour he turned oaklands average D line in to one of the best in the nfl and he has only been there like 3 days lol

as far as it will payoff in the end tradeing him i cant see it

oakland plays in the AFC west in 2 years oakland can be a 11 win playoff team and that pick would not be the top 10 pick that everyone thinks it will be but more like the 25th pick and the pats will trade the 25th pick for 2 round pick and draft some one that wont make the team lol

and i think we can end all the talk about wilfork being a better player then seymour we seen it tonight

wilfork was geting blown 5 yerds off the ball by rookies

and seymour is schooling all pro O line men

At the end of the day, despite going to a crappy team and having to fly 3,000 miles to go to work, this trade will be good for Seymour financially speaking. Going to a dumbed down defense where he is able to rush the passer more, Sey will post some big numbers this season, and thus next year some franchise (Dan Synder, you listening?) will pay him mega bucks.

He's looked great, but there was a numbers game both on the line and on the cap this offseason, and Wilfork offered more flexibility. I think this will work out beneficially for both teams.

yeah he's going to an one gap 4-3

I wouldn't rule out Al Davis giving him big money. He gave Tommy Kelly $50 million. I can't possibly imagine how well he would pay a DL who can actually play the game.

I wouldn't rule out Jerry Jones giving him that kind of money either.

According to reports, Wilfork was offered up first. I wonder if the Raiders would take a 1st round pick in 2011 for Seymour. The way the Patriots played tonight, they should make that trade.

Seymour was monstrous for the Raiders tonight. Hmmm.

Seymore was a monster tonight. His big payday is coming, which is most of the reason he was shipped their in the first place

I have to admit I was proud of Seymour tonight and wanted him to succeed. He did better than my expectations and pretty much dominated. Kelly,Ellis and Huff stood out well. I really do think that team actually has a defense now.

Our defense gave up 17 points tonight without Mayo. Go whine somewhere else.

No, thanks. I'll stay here. The defense gave up 17 points against a line that had 3 players making their first start of their NFL careers, was missing its best running back, and has a quarterback that plays scared.

If you want unicorns and rainbows, feel free to go to the "My little pony" website for a change of pace. I'll be around when you get back.

What do you expect, a shut out? We have a number of rookies and second year players on our defense, as well. Our best linebacker left the game in the first quarter and forced a change in scheme. We traded our best defensive lineman a few days before the game.

And btw, just because they have rookies in the game doesn't mean they are going to be terrible. I'm not sure they did such a great job anyway. Fred Jackson made a lot of plays by himself.

You're acting like we just played some team that can't make plays. The Bills have some elite players on offense in T.O. and Lee Evans. Fred Jackson isn't bad either. And as far as I can tell, Edwards didn't play scared at all. I don't know where you're coming from.

I think our D has room to improve, but you're just being ridiculous.

We had 4 sacks on the game and should have had six--they were negated by penalties. We also had 7 QB hits.

Maybe you should try watching the game again instead of pretending like you know how to analyze football.

I'm not acting "like" anything but someone who wasn't impressed with the play of the Patriots defense. But you feel free to keep going with this. Or you could try...........

Rainbows just for you!

No, thanks. I'll stick to reality. But when you do get there--i.e. when you provide some actual evidence for your claims--let me know.

Feel free to go watch the tape of the two games played tonight. There's plenty of evidence there for you. Now, here.... just for you, a world where everything is alright with the defense and there's nothing to worry about:

I agree with TheComeback here. It is possible that the Bills may have improved. They have some dynamic players on both sides of the ball and they did have the best part of several months to prepare for this game.

The D gave up 17 points, 302 gross yards and made 4 sacks (should have been 6) for -26 yards. All things considered, that's not entirely horrible. There's certainly room for improvement, but did we really expect the 85 Bears to be out there today? If anything get on the offense for not finishing off drives and missing plays. That I did expect. It would have been stupid to imagine Brady would be the 2007 vintage from the outset.

Back to the point at hand, Seymour was and will be missed, but as the Patriots do, they find a way.
