Looking at the injury report...however real that is...and with the thinking of paticipation needed.... Slater...Pryor, Wheatley, Connolly.....Simmons and Ohrnberger....Green-Ellis.....and Edelman... If Welker is not a go...he would be..and the Pats would have another lineman.....I think this makes the most sense...given the situation...injuries etc.

Edelman, Pryor, Slater are my sure things as of right now... hard to say about the others (BB is such an "open book", you know). I'd not be surprised to see Welker if they were playing the Steelers or Ravens - but I wonder of he sits so as not to risk anything - seeing that it's the Bills.

Slater, Wheatley, Connolly, Simmons, Green Ellis, Ninkovich, Pryor, Edelman

We go with:
Inactive: ST/S Slater, OG Connolly, OG Simmons, OG Ohrnberger, RB Green-Ellis, WR Edelman, CB Wheatley, LB Ninkovich

2 QBs Brady, Hoyer
4 RBs Maroney, Taylor, Morris, Faulk
4 WRs Moss, Galloway, Welker, Aiken
3 TEs Baker, Watson, Matthews
7 OL Light, Kaczur, Vollmer, Mankins, Koppen, Neal, Wendell/Simmons

5-6 DL Warren, Wilfork, Brace, Green, Wright, ? Pryor
2 DE/OLB Burgess, TBC
5 LBs Thomas, Mayo, Guyton, Woods
4 Ss Meriweather, Sanders, Chung, McGowan
4 CBs Bodden, Springs, Wilhite, Butler

1 K Gostkowski
1 P Hanson
1 LS Ingram
1 ST Lockett/Alexander

Welker plays in a limited role and doesn't return punts. Watson gets used as a TE/WR extensively when Welker is out.

Not sure what Simmons physical status is. If healthy and ready to play, he gets the nod over Wendell.

If Pryor continues to be physically improved I think he gets a spot and sees limited action, with one of Lockett/Alexander sitting. If Pryor is not improved then he sits and Alexander becomes a 5th LB, with Lockett a 5th S/ST player.

Pryor is more injured...so I think a definite inactive..but I did think Ninkovitch might be more an ST player...I agree that Simmon's status is questionable..at this point..is he ready?? I think I had Ninkovych in and Pryor out...we shall see...

What would you think that Simmons would be on the bench over Wendell?

Slater, Green-Ellis, Pryor, Connolly, Ohrnberger, Lockett, Chung, Edelman/Welker.

Well, Pryor was out on Friday and in on Saturday, so who knows.

Heck, even Edelman might be active (although I'd expect they'd have Faulk return punts if need be). . . .

This looks close. BTW, why have both Simmons and Wendell active? If Simmons can back up center, then I would think he would be active. If he can't, I would expect Simmons and Connolly to be active.

I seem to remember the Pats normally carrying 8 O-line during games. Particularly with Neal and his injury issues.. I see it as 2 interior linemen (Wendell and Simmons can back up at both c/g) and one back-up at OT in Vollmer.. Simmons might be an emergency OT, but who knows..

I'd like to see Edleman and Welker rested another week if they're nicked. I think we'll need them more against the Green Beans.

Welker is a big piece of taking on an aggressive D like the Jets are this year. I'd rest him.

Wouldn't be surprised to see the field spread out 4 wide with Watson as a receiver.

Is Simmons ready to play and back up all positions? If he is better and ready, of course he'd be a better player to have. Three OL should be inactive..no need to keep 3 backups..unless there is a real reason for that. Wheatley is most likely out, injured...and having good teams players is important..the reason Chung and Lockett will be active. Lockett was brought in to play teams..so unless he is horrible or in for another purpose..he will play.

Thank God your not coaching the Patriots.

Rest Welker why are so many of you taking the Bills lightly. The game still has to be played.

Less we forget when Milloy was released the bomb the Pats laid vs the Bills.

Welker plays if Healthy.

This is not going to be the cake walk many of you forsee.

I'm with you, especially since Brady and Moss had some timing issues at times in preseason, we're may need Welker on those shorter routes to move the chains. If he's not healthy that's one thing, but if he's a little nicked he'll play IMO.
