I hate to look past an opponent, but I will...

I didn't see the Jets game but am not surprised by the result. The Jets are basically the Ravens, good defense, good running game, etc.

Week 2 is going to be a blast, I expect the Jets to try and establish their running game while working Keller into favorable match ups and run an aggressive scheme against the Pats. A lot of the matchups favor the Jets but the most important two favor the Patriots (QB and Coach).

The AFC East is not going to be a stroll in the park, except for Buffalo... <-- jinx just waiting to happen.

Mark Sanchez and Rex Ryan are going into the hall of fame this week. The Jets are the real deal. It doesn't surprise me that the Texans lost because Matt Shaub is a piece of s*it of a QB.

I sure am not ready to call them the ravens. I think that is jumping then gun just a wee bit. The texans are not what I would call even an average team.

But as of yet, they haven't looked bad. The little I saw of the Game, Sanchez looked very good.

I would also like to add that I definately do not like them having the extra day and a half to rest before they play us at home!

The Jets right now are the biggest worry in the division. I still think we win it, but we're going to have to gut out games against them if only for their defense. Unlike many of you, Sanchez doesn't scare me and BB along with our D should be able to force him into looking like a rookie and actually making mistakes... unlike the Texans who, for some reason, refused to put heat on him. But, from what I saw of the game, the Jets defense looks like the real deal. Miami looks bad and I'm not too worried that we're going to lose either of our games to Buffalo this year. For Miami, I think Chad Henne is in by mid season because no defense is going to respect a deep game from Miami as long as Pennington is the QB. Baltimore really exposed them in that playoff game last year and Atlanta picked up right where the Ravens left off.

They had a good game. Let's go over board. The first week of the season is very misleading a lot of the time. I saw a lot of good things from them today and a lot of bad things that the Texans didn't capitalize.

I don't think they are as good as the Ravens. At least not yet. The Texans could end up by midseason turn out to be a really bad team and this win won't be as impressive or they could be much better than expectations making this win more impressive.

I think we will very fast get to hate Mark Sanchez, and Rex Ryan... Both very annoying... We will put them in there place next week..

I don't get why every year is supposed to be the Texans "breakout" year, and they end up sucking...... Kubiak sucks as a coach.

The JETS, We'll see next week. Lets dismantle the Jills first. Then we'll talk Jets.

I am already tired of hearing everyone and his brother anoint the Jets today, and now I have to look forward to it all week.

The thing is, the biggest reason this victory seems like a strong one for the Jets is that for some reason all of the experts decided this offseason/preseason that the Texans, a mediocre to bad team as long as they've been in the league, were a legitimate playoff contender.

Is it possible the Jets are a great team, and one of the best in the AFC if not the league? Sure, it's possible. On the other hand, is it just as likely - or perhaps more likely - that Houston is really just as bad a team as they've always been? Absolutely - and that's my take on it for now.

Already done and done when it comes to hate. And yes we will put them in their place next week. GO PATS!!

I caught the Miami/Atlanta game....and Miami was a team without an offensive gameplan. Alot of dink and dunk, some Wildcat with Pat White. Pennington was flustered early, lobbing his weak armed throws two yards down field, often in panic mode. Atlanta on the other hand played a tough bruising game, very talented on offense, ith Gonzales fitting right in at TE. They are a very fast team on turf

Sanchez is ok, he throws with a lot of confidence for a rookie QB, however the reason the won that easily is because the Texans suck big time, specially Shaub.

It should be an interesting game next week, but I think the Pats won't have much trouble winning.

In what way is Mark Sanchez annoying? He can't help it if the media falls all over him. I've yet to read any quotes from him where he doesn't come off as a pleasant, mature and sincere first year QB.

Not sure you can tell a lot from one game, Sanchez looked good.. but after the films are broken down, there will be tendencies and weaknesses... the D looked ok, did not see much of Gholston if at all, they looked ok.. but we will see.

I watched almost a full half of the game before I got annoyed and lost interest. The Texans are idiots because they never blitzed Sanchez on third and long. That basically killed them.

Seriously, what kind of a coach never even tries to blitz an untested rookie on third and long?

I think the Jets will have a stout D, but the offense will blow hard.

The thing that struck me is that we KNOW the Jets O-Line can be penetrated. They looked like studs in this game. I think Sanchez is in for pressure like he's never seen if our D is up to bringing the heat. And the KNOWN quantities of this 4 man line (Wilfork, Warren, Burgess, Green, Wright) are more than capable of bringing the heat.

I thought the Jets played a damn good game. Got to hand it to them. Especially Sanchez and the D.

Let's face it. We'll have our hands full just beating the Bills. We are totally outclassed against the Jets. They have a better defense, a better running game, and a better coach. And Sanchez will give TB a run for his money for who is the better QB out there. The Jets are going to go all the way, Rex Ryan gets coach of the year, Mark Sanchez is OROY, Vernon Gholston is DPOY, and we are just road kill in their path. We had a nice run, but we should know how to gracefully bow to the inevitable when we see it.

We're dooooooooomed!!!!!!! :D

Jets were VERY good on both offense and defense.
Then again, Houston looked terrible..

The Jets line IS a bunch of studs. They've got one of the better lines in the game. Its probably the best part of the team. THat being said, I'd be surprised if the Jets win 9 games.
