You know I hate the Jets, but I am finding it difficult to dislike Sanchez. I watched the second half of the Jets game and Sanchez looked pretty good. He also plays with enthusiasm. I know he is still a rookie and will have his ups and downs thid year, but I think the Jets will have apretty decent QB for some time. I watched him play at USC and I was not happy to see the Jets draft him.

As someone said in the game thread, it's early. He still has plenty of time to suck. :)

Re: Sanchez

I hate to say it, But you can give him 100 years, I don't think Sanchez will ever suck. We hate the Jets, but let's face it, they have some players you just have to admit, are studs. I'd love to have Sanchez, Revis, Harris, Washington, Keller, and half the Jets line as Patriots. I loved David Harris and Darrelle Revis their draft years, those guys are gonna be studs. Don't get me wrong, I think Mayo will be better than Harris, but I drool at the thought of having both. Sorry for getting off topic, Sanchez is gonna be a good to great QB, unfortunately. He showed me a lot today, especially on 3rd down, could be a scary player. Their D was impressive today too. Could be a very tough game next week, but I still think the Pats are better.

Re: Sanchez

For some reason the second they drafted him , I hated him. Maybe because he went to USC. But I've never liked the guy.

Re: Sanchez

I think the Pats are the better team too. Have to agree with that assessment. But I think the difference is a little slimmer than previously thought. Just a little. But obviously New England is the class of the division.

Re: Sanchez

Yeah, I see Schefter Tweeted this.

Mark Sanchez has just supplanted Derek Jeter as the most popular athlete in New York.

Shows how lame New York sports are.

Re: Sanchez

The Jets looked dominant on both sides of the ball

Re: Sanchez

as long as the jets do what they did today play good D and run the ball dont ask him to do to much

they can win some games

i still dont think that houston is a playoff team like some peopel think but i can see the jets wining 10 ot 11 games

Re: Sanchez

The NY media and the Jets fans will have the team headed to the superbowl again. I love how carried away the Jets fans get. Very amusing

Yeah, the Jets were one win away from a playoff spot, and they have made some improvements, especially on D. The problem for them will be a similar problem for the Pats, a killer schedule for both teams.

Re: Sanchez

He played pretty well today. Avoided a couple of early picks, but did a nice job. It kills me to say that, but he did. Threw some really nice passes. If you're a Jet fan, you have to be encouraged. But, it's early.

Re: Sanchez

We'll see just how good Sanchez is a week from now when he has formations and blitz packages thrown at him that he hasn't seen before... even in his wildest dreams.

Re: Sanchez

Give it time...he will make a major mistake that will cost them the game in due time, then the media shows their true colors.

Re: Sanchez

I couldn't believe how unprepared Houston was on both sides of the ball. They got spanked.

Re: Sanchez

"The message to the rest of the league is, hey, the Jets are coming, and we're going to give you everything we've got, and that's going to be, I think, more than you can handle,":singing:

Re: Sanchez

Sanchez did look good out there, but I wouldn't go overboard so soon. Opening day games have not always been the best indicators of future success (see Bills, 2003) and the Jets were playing a Houston defense that's just awful. Let's see how Sanchez handles the New Englands and Tennessees of the league before we anoint him.

Re: Sanchez

Sanchez eats kittens.

Yup, shaking already.

Re: Sanchez

I don't know.... should we even bother showing up for next Sunday's game?
