Yes, hes a KC Chief, but I would still like to see him play good as long as its not vs NE.

I cannot say how I know but this is 100% fact. Its still not determined whether he will play or not, but FYI to those who wager and are hoping for a KC upset.

a 'tear in knee'?

what part of the knee?

Tragic, really.

Tyranny?? :(

He's still being listed as a game time decision. Where did you hear this news? It's not on NFL.com or ESPN.com.

Cassel has a sprained MCL, which is a slight tear and can heal on it's own given time and therapy. Unfortunately the start of the season gave him only two weeks to get it ready and may be too early for him to come back. KC has been working with him, and reporting him limited in practice as they test to see if he can be productive against Baltimore, hence the game time decision.

He practiced pretty well yesterday from what I've read. With no source, I'll definitely take this info with a grain of salt.

Unfortunately, Baltimore has an excellent pass rush and should be heavily favored for a win. Were I KC, I'd let Cassel sit and heal rather than ****** his healing or worse.

I'm rooting for the Chiefs, and for Cassel. But I really doubt Cassel would make that much of a difference. Healthy Cassel, they probably lose. Gimpy Cassel, they lose and he gets killed. Healthy Thigpen or Croyle, they lose. I hope they don't play him. Better to let him heal 100% and have him for the rest of the season. Let Thigpen run around and get nailed a bunch of times.

Poetic justice would be signing Bernard Pollard for the game.

To play QB. :D

I was thinking the same thing when I read this not really breaking news.

If the Chiefs were smart they would not risk their starter getting pummeled behind that swiss cheese line they will be trotting out there on Sunday.

It wont matter if Cassell is behind center or they trot Joe Montana out of the tunnel it is going to be "duck for cover" all day. That "small tear" could get a whole lot worse very easily.

Matt warmed up but his mobility is limited. So KC made what Cowher just called they best decision of the season...he's inactive.

Just heard on CBS that Cassel is inactive and Brodie Croyle (sp?) will start... sucks to be a Chiefs fan right now.

Well, the alternative—Matt Cassel starts vs. the Ravens, and Brodie Croyle starts the rest of the season—would suck even worse. . . .

Exactly. Same way I feel about sitting Welker if needed tomorrow night.

Yeah, but I was thinking more along the lines of Cassel's probably the biggest thing they had going for them on opening day and now they don't even have him, you know?

Even if Cassel were completely healthy, I'd still contemplate sitting him this week.
