Ultimatum for Richard Seymour - BostonHerald.com Hidden in Ian Rapoport's article about Seymour and his letter was this tidbit about Nunn. Seems he had at least 2 teams interested in him but he never considered not coming back to the Pats.

“I just wanted to come back here,” Nunn said. “This is a great organization to be around. I have great receivers to learn from, so I thought this would be the best place to do it.”

Now I'm sure 90% of his reason was because this is a great org. But I think the other 10% is all the love he got on these forums. We all want to be loved and lets face it the boards are gushing with Nunn love. If he had signed somewhere else the built up love wouldnt be there because they hadnt seen him play. Please dont say that players dont read these boards cause I aint buying it. They all want to know what people think about them and you would too. Even the biggest celebs Google themselves its human nature.

So if you are reading this Mr. Nunn and I think you are. Welcome to Foxboro my man, You have what we all see as an impressive skill set, and we all are pulling for you. Good luck!

Umm...then what percentage of it was the team's not fielding any outside WRs under age 32? Surely opportunity is one of the biggest factors in a decision like this. MAYBE even bigger than message board posts. ;)

I can hear the fanboys yelling....Get rid of Galloway, it's Nunn time....the new Michael Bishop.

On a side note...what happened too Tate? I know he is on the IR, but was he a no go all camp or did something happen during preseason. Did his college injury carryover?

Not IR. A form of PUP (NFI, "Non-Football Injury", since it was something he had before he started playing in the NFL), so he can come back later this season.

Bussey and McKenzie are on IR.

Not to mention that he already knew the system and coaches. If he signs on someone else's PS, he is starting from square one again. It makes sense for him to stay, all things being equal.

I like the sentiment behind this thread, but I think that NFL players act primarily in what they perceive as their own self-interest. If it's a close call between one place and another, then I think that other factors can come into play. But, yeah, I do think we're a pretty nice group on this Board.

He'll probably be with the team next season, I don't see Galloway staying here for long.

I hope he keeps working hard and be ready when the time comes

Thanks man! Appreciate the kind words!

I agree. Additionally, I think, in your first sentence, you could replace the words "NFL players" with the word "humans".

He's not on the IR. Tate is on the Reserve /Non-Football Injury list. He's still recovering from his ACL injury, but people expect him back this season.

I doubt any players read these boards at all. They don't need the distraction. It doesn't matter what the cheap seats say, it's the coaches they have to impress. We're a non-factor in anything, I believe.

I suspect that if the current WR corp, and particulary Galloway light it up, the team will let Tate take as much time as he needs to become "100%. If not, that could hasten his return, so long as doing so won't cause further injury.

If the game plan calls for it, don't put it past BB to activate Nunn off the PS at any time and make him a game day active if Edelman can't go. He's done that many times before.

QB12

Nunn really didn't have a choice in the matter until he cleared waivers.. Had either of those two teams wanted, they could have claimed him and he'd been theirs..

I think you lack a basic understanding of human nature. Most people admit it or not if they know they are being talked about will look to see what is being said about them. Celebs, Sports Stars, are no exception and many many will admit to it.

Also I dont know when the last time you went to a game was but those cheap seats you speak of are harder to find than the chupacabra.

I should say I am a big Tate fan as well. I have sky high hopes for Edelman, Tate, and Nunn.

You can make that statement based on what we have, but(and this is a J lo sized but) we dont know the situations of the other teams that showed interest in him. He could have been on a gravy train with biscuit wheels somewhere else as far as we know. One more point man looks out for his best interests as a rule but not always. Some choose comfort over opportunity. Dont ever downplay the comfort factor in decision making (see Richard Seymour) People make seemingly detrimental decisions all day long and twice on Sundays.

Not exactly Lincoln put an end to that.

Why do you have to show yourself to be a complete idiot and mention something like slavery when nothing of the sort was being talked about?

In the extreme, you are correct. If either of those two teams claimed Nunn and he didn't want to report, he could retire from football. But the team that claimed him would still have his rights.. And he'd not be allowed to play in the NFL until they relinquished them or he played for their team.

Yes, exactly. He was not claimed and therefore he was available to any of 32 teams. Unless one of the others was offering him a spot on the 53 he would be crazy to go elsewhere to sit on the PS of a team whose offense he knows nothing of. Here he's an injury away from active.

Newsflash anywhere he would have signed he would be an injury away from active. Do you have some info. Im not aware of because as far as we know he was offered a roster spot somewhere, we just dont know. We have good Wr depth so this aint exactly the best place to glom on. I can assure that after 1 training camp he isnt proficient in our playbook either, so I dont buy that argument at all.

something else to consider

Nunn went undrafted and unsigned as an UDFA last year and to my knowledge was out of football for a year. The Pats gave him a shot last spring, the only team that did. If I were Nunn, I would think twice about going to a team that had no interest in me up to now, and might just be curious. At least with teh Pats he got to play some and is now familiar with the offense. As as he said, there are worse places to learn than from players like Moss, Welker and Galloway, and to have Tom Brady throw to you.
