Re: Harrison:Seymour very upset

blah, blah.........its kind of too late for seymour to understand exactly how good he had it here......

I will say this, though.........if the deal does fall through, if there's a place someone can save face, it's here with the patriots

Re: Harrison:Seymour very upset

Rodney sure hasn't changed since leaving the field. Wow, he doesn't pull any punches even now that he is a national TV/radio guy!

Not just on the Seymour story, but the stuff about Ryan Leaf, etc. Not afraid to speak his mind, I like that!

Re: Harrison:Seymour very upset

Rodney is great, he is going to be great on radio and TV because he isn't afraid to speak his mind.

That said, there was nothing groundbreaking with this interview. He said Seymour was upset about being traded to Oakland because they are so bad. He said it was a good deal for the Pats, because they get a probable high first round pick for a guy who was only under contract one more year and would have taken a lot of money to re-sign. He didn't directly address Seymour's current situation or what he was going to do, saying they would have to ask Richard that.

He was funny, though. One of my favorite players.

I enjoyed it very much. He also was care not to trash the Patriots either. Smart.

Re: Harrison:Seymour very upset

Looks like someones having a pity party.

Rodney is a great interview

If the Patriots took that crybaby back I would boycott this team

Seymour is upset he is going to the Raiders? I am still shocked by this.

Seriously, if I am the Raiders at this point, I am giving Seymour whatever he wants. If this deal falls apart because Seymour refuses to show up to play there, the Raiders are doomed to only get players who no one wants or mercenaries who only care about money and not winning. Granted that is mostly what they are getting now, but they have no hope to change that trend if they lose out on Seymour.

Actually, I don't think Rodney's cares to be careful about much in that regard. He seems to have genuine respect for how the Pats work. It didn't seem like he was tip-toeing the question - - he was definite - - 'Great move for the Patriots - - sucks for Seymour'.

This is not a man who tends towards "subtlety" and I think NBC is probably going to market that like TBS markets Charles Barkley.

Rodney would not make a good politician. He doesn't tiptoe through the tulips for anything.

Absolutely. It's a huge problem on many levels if a player can scuttle a trade just by saying "I don't wannnnnna!!" I would think the commissioner's office can't let it get to that point.

True but hes not dumb enough to piss off sources and say something moronic like, 'They Hate Their Coach' w/o substance.

Rodney will be a must-watch no question.

I think that is exactly the type of politicians we need... Ones who don't kiss arse to the lobbyists.. but I digress..

IMO getting Seymour does not change that. That organization doesn't have a soul.

After seeing that Seymour is grossing $216,764 per week, I now feel no pity for the guy. That weekly amount would take me about 7 years at my job to make that much money.

Suck it up, play out the year in Oakland and go elsewhere next season...

Which is why the 5 day letter should be sent out now and it should be from the Raiders. 5 days to either show up, in Oakland, or sit out the year.

I am robertweathers and I approve this post!!!!!!!!

(but since we are not supposed to comment on matters political in nature I won't) ;)

So Seymour's upset. Who cares? He makes millions, he's gotten paid when he's been injured, he held out when he was unhappy with his contract, he'll be a FA un 6 months unless he chooses to sign an extension with Oakland, and he's upset? Please. He can choose (a) to report and sign a long-term extension for millions more, moving to one of the most desirable areas of the country, (b) to report and suck it up for 5 months, then become a FA and go where he wants and make millions more, or (c) to retire and live on the millions he has already made, if he has been smart enough to save money. Those are his options.

I'm tired of the media and fans sympathizing with spoiled crybaby players like Cutler and Seymour who try to publicly whine and get their way every time something happens that they don't like. They have it better than 99.999% of the population. Maybe they should actually have to work for a living to put things in perspective.
