Patriots Daily - On recalcitrant Seymour, Fourth Estate stuck in first

Very funny from Scott Benson, as always. Basically all the media coverage of Seymour could be summed up with an "I got nuthin"

Yup... why is it that so many alleged "professional" reporters keep getting scooped? This column's a good read, and really shows up the lazy-@ss bums who think they are the best that Sports Reporting has to offer.

I love a writer that complains that other writers aren't working hard enough to make his job easier. Free and easy....or *****

Patriots Daily is part of Boston Sports Media Watch, which, if you can't figure it out, reports on the Boston sports media ... which is what this column is doing.

Does anybody know if Oakland has sent Seymour the dreaded 5 day letter. That should help Seymour sort out his emotions very quickly.

Don't the Raiders have Gerald Warren on their defensive line? Wasn't he taken a couple of spots before Seymour in the draft? Ouch!

Just to clarify - I'm not a writer, I'm a fan, and on PD I'm doing the same thing as you do when you post to the board. It's just a different conveyance. My "job" is in consulting, and has nothing to do with the Patriots or our web site. Thanks for the opportunity to clarify.

That was awesome. It's pretty sad that the Pats beat writers can't get ANYTHING.

Nice rant, thoroughly enjoyable!

Michael Smith and Adam Schecter are always scooping the locals.
I think it's got to do with laziness, too much reliance on ESPN for their info, and the dominance of the Red Sox.

I hated McDonough of the Globe, because he was an arrogant vindictive pri-k,but his football notes in the Sunday paper, was a must read.

What the Fourth Estate has failed to explain to date is the basic
elements of the Seymour situation. Do Seymour's rights belong to
the Raiders even though he has not passed his physical? How long
does he have to report to the Raiders? If he does not report in a
reasonable length of time, who writes the letter that informs him
that he has 5 days to report or not play at all in 2009? Can the
Raiders at some point demand their pick back because he did not
report and take his physical? Is he due any compensation from
either team? A telephone call or e-mail to the NFL or NFLPA would
clarify the situation.

Yup... I agree, although the Red Sox being the older team shouldn't be keeping the sports writers from investigating stories from the other winning franchises.
