Welker Could Miss Week One

Thanks for posting this because I definitely missed any other threads related to a Wes Welker absence in week 1.

Welker was standing on the sideline of the Giants game chit chatting with TFB. Both were in uniform.

This was just one of the latest guessing games the media was playing last week.

That's because it was discussed to death several days ago.

And wasn't Welker 1.0 seen at practice before the Giants game?

Mike Reiss said on the radio yesterday that Welker was returning punts before the Giants game. Sounds like he is close to ready. My guess is that if that game was a real game, he would have practiced and play.

my bad, it is hard to follow every discussion on this forum. I'll try to pay better attention next time.

Not releated to whether Welker plays or not but the reason he was in uniform - like everyone else - was that it was mandated by the NFL that for the LAST pre-season game, everyone on the roster MUST dress. It's an NFL thing for that one game. That's why he was dressed - even though he wasn't going to play.

Actually ALL Patriot players were in unis that last game...per Reiss

Is there a league rule that every player must participate in the pregame warm ups too? Because Welker did that too.

Nope....Brady participated in those too. I wasn't questioning whether he plays in wk 1 or doesn't. I'm point out that do you/we really think Brady, Welker etc...those who didn't need to play, would even be in uniform for that game? Someone mentioned he was "dressed" for pre-season week 4. I was stating that the league rule this year is that everyone dresses for week 4. That's all.

jeez.....the guy is trying to post some relevant info about Welker, why can't people just lay-off and discuss the threads?

That's what I was thinking, especially since I hadn't seen the other thread either. I actually thanked the OP for starting the thread.

I hadn't seen anything before now either... but moving on : Welker missing week one would be a minor inconvenience. That Bills team with their "Pop Warner" offense should be trampled on with or without Wes.

I'd be a lot more concerned if he has to miss more than the Monday Nighter, though Edelman should be able to step up in a temporary role. Fun to see how much action Edelman sees and what he does in real games. Not fun if we HAVE to see him because of injuries to Welker.

there's too much nit-picking and not enough thanking on this board, imho

Don't worry about it. Stuff happens.

I seriously doubt Welker misses week one. I'm sure it's B.S. speculation based on the fact that he's been out awhile.

My post was an insult?

No, of course not. I was agreeing with you. I meant the nit-pickers shoul take it there. Sorry, still early here.

My bad. :( :(

That said, the original point remains: it wasn't there because it had been discussed to death several days before, and fallen several pages back in the cutdown/Seymour trade frenzy.
