damn..i might have to watch espn now...

Wow, didnt see that coming

The reference to ESPN-Boston is probably the key to his hiring...he will be their pro perspective for that website and will give them some more defensive input on air as they seem to very offense heavy at times.

Hopefully this also spells a big cut back in Mark Schlereth and Mike Golic's time on their shows

Bruschi will be very good on TV, he has that type of personality. I'm surprised ESPN hired a former Patriot. ;)

the news just keeps getting better today:mad:

Bruschi joining ESPN

Tedy Bruschi, who retired last Monday after 13 seasons as a Patriot, will be joining ESPN as an in-studio analyst, according to an industry source.

Bruschi will be appearing on NFL Live, SportsCenter, and will also likely be doing interactive chats on ESPN-Boston, the new website expected to be starting up shortly.

The former Pats linebacker and defensive captain is expected to start his new job as soon as Thursday.

re: Bruschi joining ESPN

Bru probably knew we were moving into a 4-3 and that his chances were even more limited

re: Bruschi joining ESPN

Damn, was hoping that he'd find his way over to NBC so that he and Rodney could make me give a **** about SNF.

re: Bruschi joining ESPN

Can he be a sportscaster and also on the "shadow roster"?????

re: Bruschi joining ESPN

Bruschi going to the Dark Side.....Well I hope he replaces Tom Jackson

I don't know what time Rap had this, but Burton mentioned this to DeOssie on Sports Final..I heard it and..was happy for him...Good...even though I hate ESPN...maybe the balance will start to change.

NBC lands Rodney. ESPN lands Reiss and Bruschi. CBS and NFLN must have their heads up their collective you know what's. NFLN passed on Reiss as Schefter's replacement and CBS invested in the FSNE retreads and Maz to launch their new radio station. It's almost comical now watching CSNE as they pimp their cross programming deal with WEEI while Felger sits there.

Bruschi would have been the ideal replacement for Marshall Faulk. Being based in LA for All Access probably took them out of the running. Working out of Bristol is kind of a no brainer for Tedy. Too bad they can't seem to get their Boston radio station to compete given their enormous resources being anchored in the region.

This is what I was expecting from Day 1 of his announced retirement... I know there was a strong contingent of folks expecting him to go into coaching but I couldn't figure out why Tedy would give up being a player and missing half his kids lives to being a coach so he could miss ALL of their lives.

He had offers for national commentary after his stroke - ESPN seemed like the natural match just a few hours down the road in Bristol, CT.

It's a good match for Bruschi and ESPN.
