Thats right! Hard to believe in the midst of all this hoopla that we actually have a REGULAR SEASON game coming up next week. I know, I know....discussing BJGE, Seymour, Massarastacelli (fawkin' doosh) and the wannabe porn star beating that Lights Out gave last night is the hot topic, but nothing wrong with dumbing down a little for week one eh? BTW, I am assuming that I can say "fawkin' doosh" now that I am with the "Reds".

Now I am sure most of you see the week one against division rival Buffalo as a gimme. I do not subscribe to that train of thought and would love to hear some opinions about the new Bills offense. Particularly:

We have not seen Shawn Springs and it is anyone's guess if we will next week. If not, who covers TO?

Does anyone agree that the firing of the OC over there and replacement with Van Pelt improves the no huddle they want to run? Along with that does anyone else see this making Schouman a legitimate threat?

I think this game is closer than most think. If the plays are simplified enough for Edwards to get fast reads and they can keep the offense on the field, while not allowing for our defense to rotate out, this could be a pretty wearing game on our D.

Have you seen what's been going on in Buffalo lately? That is a team in disarray. Jauron and his Pop Warner offense is gonna get smoked.

Haha, yeah....they looked pretty crappy during the PS. Only scored like 3 points right?

I take nobody for granted in the NFL...particularly the Bills on opening night and us with changed defense.

I think even though Van Pelt just got the job he throws a few wrinkles in to give the offense a different look. TO will play like he always does his first year with a team and he is dangerous anyway you cut it. Without Springs I wonder who can disarm him.

In my opinion the TE will be the key for them this game running the no huddle. Schouman has good hands and ability, and we have had tackling issues lately.

If Brady and the Offense can control the game and put up points early I think it's a rout. If not and Buffalo hangs around then who knows. After all, they are an NFL team... aren't they? :D

As long as TO is there they should be taken seriously.

How is their defense? Any good?

Last year they had a pretty decent passing defense. I think their overall defense ranked around 15th. They picked up a kid named Harris (LB) in the draft who looks promising, but probably not a factor yet.

Jauron is a defense mind so I expect they should be at least as viable this year as last. Younger on defense this year, like us. And of course, there is the Maybin kid. Strong pass rusher....real strong pass rusher.

Rookie who signed 3 weeks ago. Also is raw and not ready for the NFL right now. Don't expect him to be bothering Brady much, he'll probably barely see the field.

stuff happens sometimes. cant underestimate especially opening game. people said a lot of the same things before our 2003 opener against the bills ...team in disarray and all. with the seymour trade going down it remains how it effects the rest of the team..however minimal it is.

Iam scared of the no huddle wild cat offense.
:scared:

I agree.

**** is on the hotseat though. He may throw everything he has at us and damned the player development. Things do seem a little desperate in Buffalo.

I think we offensive game plan for a ground game and try to keep their offense off the field. If we have fast scoring strikes and they get their no huddle clicking our defense will wear out fast.

Their OL sucks. Their coaches are scrambling. Edwards and Owens have barely touched the field together. If we win but allow 270 yards passing, I'll be worried. This should be a 37-3 homecoming for Brady.

Is that final with Welker or without?

I hope we don't throw up that kind of blowout. Aside from the media hype that would follow is the youth presence on the team that might think they are all that easy....and start buying into the media hype.

I think we win, but I think the spread is closer to 10 points than 34. Speaking of that...what is the spread?

Please tell me you are kidding? Are you saying we'd do well to avoid a shoot out with the Jills? You honestly think BB is going to put the locks on Brady and Moss cuz he's afraid of Buffalo's new no-huddle offense? Puhleeze. You sound like a Buffalo fan wishing his team could compete with the Pats at their own game. Not a chance.

Nah, I am not kidding. I don;t think BB is "afraid" of a shootout with the Bills, I think he plays this game to burn clock time and we see a lot of ground game. If the Bills were to have success with the no huddle, and I mean success just in moving the ball in little clock usage, with our quick strikes to Moss for fast scores our D will gas hard. I don't think BB wants to travel the following short week to NJ with a tired D.

Now, about my loyalties. You're welcome to come visit me from Texas anytime you want and sit down with me and my brothers and watch a game here in Maine. We love flatlanders...yes we do.

Assarotti just got topped by Danny Shanknancy, he's got some crap out called "end of an era"

i never understood our local writers getting great pleasure in proclaiming doom and bringing people and teams down.Always. maybe it gives them a chance to vent their personal feelings after being stiffed by teams and players.
