O'Callaghan claimed by Chiefs

Pioli is cool. If the player stays healthy, he can help that team. I was watching the game Cassel went down. They need big dudes to protect their investment.

Well that's desperation grab ... O'Callaghan is slower than mud. Pioli getting desperate already?

Pioli may trade him to the Jets for a draft pick.

No surprise. A good pickup for them.

No surprise here. I've been talking about this possibility for a while.

a few of us called that one last night. With McIntosh gone, it fills an obvious need for the Chiefs

It's kind of late for an announcement. I wonder if O'Callaghan was

waived at the last minute?

Huh? I'm sure he was claimed this morning.

Pioli needs guys who know the Pats' system which they are trying to install in KC. O'Callaghan might not provide a lot in performance, he can bring something in terms of experience.

Remember that Belichick brought in a lot of "crappy" Jets players in when he got here and many of them made a big impact (Hamilton and Phifer come to mind).

O'Callaghan has started for us. He has to be good enough to be a backup, especially on a team prudent enough to carry four OT's.

He'll probably start in KC. They don't (didn't) have a starting RT.

KC is just trying to keep up with Denver is collecting former Patriots

KC (6)
O’Callaghan, Monty Beisel, Cassel, Guttierez, Corey Mays, Vrabel

Denver (8)
Gafffney, Gorin, Daniel Graham, Hochstein, Chad Jackson, Lamont Jordan,
Lonnie Paxton, LeKevin Smith

And our third trading partner Oakland is now the strong favorite to be #2 in that sad, sad division.

Really? #2? Even with that terrible offense and QB who is a cheeseburger away from eating his way out of the job?

The Raiders won 5 games last season, which was 3rd in the division. Due to scheduling quirks, they've got what's probably the easiest schedule. They've just added Richard Seymour to the front line and still have the best CB in the game. If Russell plays just as well as he did in the second half of last season, and that team can find 1 wide receiver to step up, they should be the favorites for that #2 spot. KC and Denver have brutal schedules this year, and they've both gone through a lot of overhauling (Broncos overhauled 50% of the roster in one offseason, for example).
