I guess we better start looking at them. . . . the Pats currently only have two QBs signed beyond the current season.

Looking at the type of QB BB normally prefers, you're looking at someone who will be 6'4"+, smart, cool under pressure, excellent pocket presence, hard worker, a leader....

The first name up has to be Tebow, BB is in love with the kid. Can't see us spending a first rounder on him though.

I like Tim Hiller as a project better though, he lacks in a couple of areas (mobility, arm strength), but then so did some other guy we drafted a few years back, Tom something or other. He's got the size, the production (he was outstanding last year), the smarts, the work ethic - there's a heck of a lot to like in the kid and he would be my favourite. Hopefully he has a bit of a down year and stays in the 3rd-5th round range.

Zac Robinson out of Oklahoma State is another I like as a project, he's got the leadership and production, and has Cassel-like mobility.

Dan LeFevour will surely rise up Draft boards as the season continues, he's another with all the physical attributes and production to back it up.

The last one for now is Tony Pike - excellent size, tough, great work ethic, would make for another Cassel-like project.

move up and get sam bradford, thatd b the wise thing to do...mark it down...he's the closest thing to the next tom brady...6'4, good arm, very smart and accurate and cool in the pocket...great under center and in the spread....also, very humble yet confident goood kid! if hoyer doesnt work out or brady doesnt play solid for the next 6 years then us pats fans will wish we would have used all our second rounders to move up and get bradford! but im completely cool with brady in there the next 5 years if theres not much slouch in performance, obviously:)

Not to be facetious, but do you really want to pay Brady $15M+/yr and pay Bradford $5M+/yr to back him up? Because, barring some bizarre happenings, that's how high up Bradford is going to go.

$5M? Try $10M per lol

Bradford got hurt last night on a play similar to the Brady Hanyesworth play.

The BYU QB Hall is an accurate thrower and made clutch plays in the 4th Q.

I also like Hiller as far as having the prototypical size BB craves, but I am not sure about his accuracy or piose.

A good coach can sort that out Ochmed. Look at his production last year though - mamma mia.

Hiller or Hall? And does mamma mia mean :rocker: or :scared:?

ur right bc we all expect tom brady to b very productive the next 3 to five years and we couldnt afford bradford...too bad sam bradford isnt a true freshmen then we would have perfect timing!! cuz he's goin to be very good if no major injuries..if levoir or kaczur dont play very good this year then i think we need to take okung, t. williams, or adam utal...o tackles in next years draft...

our biggest needs for next year, offensive tackle, tight end, ilb depth, punter, qb depth, rb depth, and possibly a randy moss type receiver...were are stacked and basically need depth positions for the future except at one of the tackle spots

ANother big strong armed QB to watch is Rusty Smith of Florida Atlantic. Big 6'6" and 230 lbs. Needs to work on accuracy but he has some impressive tools.

Well, sadly for Bradford, he just suffered a sprain in his arm from the hit he took against BYU last night.

God only knows what that will do to his draft stock.

I fully believe that Sam Bradford will be a gigantic bust if he goes in round 1. He plays in the Big 12 and holding is basically not a penalty in that conference. He's put up his numbers with a gazillion seconds to throw every time he drops back. Any time he's seen real pressure or has been touched, the results haven't been good.

NE PADDY, lets make an over the internet bet on that...Sam Bradford will be a good nfl qb! ic ur from texas so i kno ur just a critic on a sooner ;)

Well, I'm an Irish guy at UH. So, my view is relatively objective. But I still think Bradford is a galactically overrated player.

So, sure, I'll bet you 2 gallons of air that Bradford stinks up the NFL. I'm thinking Joey Harrington-style.

I could put up his numbers if the 5 guys in front of me were allowed to bear hug rushers.

That is a strong statement! You don;t think that Bradford does a good job of reading defenses and picking them to pieces?????

I think that he's given so much time to throw that he doesn't have to be all that good at reading defenses.

In both bowl games he's played, the refs (not being Big 12 refs) actually called holding on the OL. There was a decent pass rush and Bradford all of a sudden wasn't Superman anymore. In fact I'd say he was very poor.

Who knows, it's college and it's hard to say whether somebody's finished their development or not (cf Brady, Tom). Maybe he'll be Unitas II. I highly doubt it. I think he's more of a Harrington II.

any qb struggles under pressure...aka mr tom brady himself..peyton as well bud...he didnt play that bad against the gators..they had great coverage and pressure and he still made accurate throws..i put most the blame on his receivers not making the catch...we seriously need to look at him in this next draft if he comes out...
