Down goes Schonert
Posted by Mike Florio on September 4, 2009 11:47 AM ET

They say things happen in threes.

This week, three NFL offensive coordinators have been fired.

A league source tells us that the Bills have dumped offensive coordinator Turk Schonert, ten days before the team's season opener on Monday Night Football against the Patriots.

And of course, TO had to tweet about

So let me apologize now 4 sumhow, sumway, i got the OC fired! I felt like i wsn't gettin enuff balls n preseason! Lol! J/k but I apologize!

What is up with teams firing their offense coordinator right before the season begins? This the third team in less than two weeks that have done this. Has this ever happened before?

Owens' joke about the firing doesn't bother me. It seems that he is just gearing up for the criticism that he knows is coming. I am sure many reporters will be trying to tie him into this. Basically he is saying he was not responcible for the firing. He does not attack the old OC or really make a comment about it.

I actually laughed at TO's comments. Pretty funny. He's probably right. I wouldn't be surprised if they were blaming him for it on tonight's edition of SportsCenter.

It's the fact he joked at all that shows he hasn't changed. T.O. is all about T.O.

I think he is responsible for the other O.C. firings this week also.

And about this whole Twitter thing, worst invention since the vibrator

Even jerks are right occasionally, and T.O. was right to anticipate he'd be asked if he was to blame.

That said, it's bad form to joke about somebody losing their job. I'd add "especially in this economy," but I imagine Schonert had a fat (by most people's standards) guaranteed contract. By the time the career setback actually hurts his pocketbook, hopefully the economy will be better ...

Yeah, Twitter is useless. I wonder if Jauron & Co. weren't happy with the way the offense was responding in the no huddle?

To each his own. I find Twitter pretty useful in business. Helps with casual relationships that otherwise would be even more casual.

Here is an article about it on the four letter network that shall not be named. Says although they are happy with the "no huddle," they aren't happy with the "pace" with which it is being installed. BAH HA HA!!

Who else is now really looking forward to Richard Seymour, Ty Warren, et al. helping the Bills (who, lets face it, should be in great pre-season form) pick up the "pace" of their no huddle offense on Sept. 14th?!

Agreed, Twitter has been a godsend for business networking. Anyone that thinks that it's useless just hasn't figured out how to leverage it yet.

I have no problem with T.O.'s comments. It's easy to get knee-jerky with him b'c he has been a major d-bag over the years, but I didn't mind this. I agree with others that he's joking about the predicted media reaction, not making light of the guy who just got axed.

It's all connected.:scared:

Vibrator?

LaWanda Page [Aunt Esther]

Lady goes in a drug store, asks the clerk for batteries.

Clerk crooks his finger and says come this way....

*Lady*...If I could come that way, I wouldn't need the batteries!

Of course it is. I can't believe people making excuses for this jerk. A five year old should know enough to shut up in a situation like that.

Why does T.O. have to type like an idiot?

Anyone who laughs about anybody losing his/her job is a jerk-off. If you want to say it was deserved, that's OK. But it's funny?

The T.O. well poisoning in Buffalo is officially under way.
