If I'm wrong, please correct me (as if I'd have to ask!)...

Every thread on this board seems to include suggestions to place players like Morris and Nunn on PUP.

As far as I know, there is no more PUP-ing. Tate & LeVoir were the eligible players, and they've already been designated. So no more sidestepping the tough roster decisions, OK? :)

This is correct.

Is there any way to sticky this the last week of August every year?

It's a bizarre blind spot. Even veteran posters keep trying to stick players they just watched on the field onto the PUP list.

Not to mention sticking multi-year veterans on the practice squad, but PS eligibility really is confusing (Titus Adams eligible, Steve Williams not?). PUP is perfectly straightforward.

You started this thread without defining PUP eligibility requirements and constraints? Why dontcha go ahead and make that happen since youre being so proactive here.

You have to start camp on PUP. Once you start practicing you're ineligible. That's it.

To be put on the RESERVE/PUP, you had to have spent the entire PRE-SEASON on the ACTIVE PUP. If you got activated, at any point, you are no longer eligible for the Reserve PUP.

Thanks -- 13 jargon-free words. Now that's what I call a rule! :)

Actually you can sum it up in 6 words..."Once you start practicing you're ineligible"....THAT is a hard and fast rule...
you actually do NOT have to be on active PUP..BEFORE reserve ...if a player is unsigned..late in camp..he could go DIRECTLY to reserve PUP...(as McKenzie could have if his knee was not as bad.)
I agree that so many FAIL to understand all the rules about PUP etc..I heard Tanguay last night talking and he showed how little he really knows..talking about how Slater could be PUPed..THAT is embarrassing that THOSE ON the Pats broadcast do NOT understand.

I believe that we could sign a player who has not practiced for another team and put him on the PUP list.

I just added it to my .SIG

Cool. Could you also add that no player will be cut who cost more against the cap if they are not on the team (ie Maroney, Crabel, Wheatly, Springs)?
