Damon Huard

Could there be more of a lock to become a Patriot?

Deus Irae, I don't know why you think this guy is done but I think he's be much better than what we have now.

I agree. Hes only 35, has been fairly productive as a backup QB and knows at least the base part of the offense.

Question is, you bring him in but like Hoyer will he last until the practice squad? Don't know.

We realize he can't make a superior team like the 49ers but

probably can make an inferior team like the Patriots.

He was playing for vet minimum when he was here and the Pats let him go. If the Pats are so high on him, why didn't they keep him?

Personally, I liked the guy and was sorry to see him go. I'd be happy if they signed him. But it isn't what I like, it is what BB likes, and he gave us a clue when he let Huard walk.

This almost sounds too weird to be correct but in '06, '07 & '08 he had 17 fumbles, 18 interceptions and 24 TDs while playing in 26 games with KC.

Why would anyone think an old retread like Huard would do any better in the Pats offense than a guy like Walter (who at least is young and has upside)? I'd use the words "washed up" for Huard but, in order to be washed up, you had to have been successful at first. Sh*t, why not just drag Drew Bledsoe out of retirement, he's only 37...

People are giving up on Walter way too fast... I think he has major upside... Huard would be good insurance and a sounding board for Brady.. Would like to stay status quo, wont mind Huard as a number 3... I think we should worry more about Lb and secondary players

Oh I wouldn't go that far.
But you'd think this guy would have some familiarity with the offense.
I'd say he's at least worth a look.

Let's withhold judgement until after Thursday's game. Maybe,

Walter's performance will make us all yearn for Huard. I don't

think Huard will be snapped up quickly like Kevin O'Connell.

Who would Brady prefer to carry the clipboard and talk to him during the game: Huard or Hoyer. I suspect that the answer is Huard, but perhaps not.

In any case, it is most unlikely that he is a better option than Walter for the #2.

I loved Huard when he was Huere :D but he had some chances of progression back then. Wouldn't it be better to stick with quarterbacks who still have a chance to grow?

If you see this as a lock, give me some odds.
