For those interested. He still has PS eligibility.

Rats, I thought he had gotten an injury settlement - that's two UDFA Pats TEs they've acquired.

I don't buy the interest in him from them...smells like classic picking their brain then release you mentality at work. At least it's work, and if trend is usual trend he will be out there again.

I buy the interest, Buffalo has been working hard to develop TEs who can help young Edwards.

Yeah but Tyson DeVree? If we cut Watson and Buffalo signed him, then I could believe that. DeVree will probably be cut when Buffalo cuts their roster down to the final 53.

If they needed help that badly they could have signed him back when he was still available as a free agent, he was only signed June 11th...they had months to sign him, he wasn't.

Did you see DeVree play? He is pretty good. I hope he sticks with a team.

They had a TE go down with an injury but signing DeVree makes 5 tight ends for them:
Shawn Nelson, 4th round draft pick from this year.
Derek Fine, 2nd year player who started 5 games for them last year
Derek Shouman, 3rd year player who started 12 games for them last year
Jonathan Stupar, a 2nd year UDFA who saw limited action.

I don't believe he stays with them after September 5th, not when they have enough bodies at the position and not when DeVree's former team is their first opponent.

He may not stay with them, but patfanken and others reporting from camp had nothing but praise for him and considered him competitive with the other four - he was constantly being noted for making great catches. If Buffalo didn't have a scout at some of the public practices they aren't worth spit as an organization (rivalry talk aside) - so I'm sure they know what he was doing in camp. This is also a kid NE has signed three times - that tells other teams the coaches like him.

DeVree is tall, big target, he's demonstrated good hands, improved blocking, and NE's coaches kept bringing him back - it's worth a test drive when you aren't set at your position (also they reportedly like Stupar who is another NE UDFA cast-off, that didn't hurt DeVree's chance of a test drive either).

The Bills couldn't pick the brain of an acorn. They're trying to run a no huddle offense and don't need a 4th or 5th TE with Lee Evans, TO and the kid Nelson who is very fast.

Hate to say I told you so...but I told you so. He was cut today by the Bills along with former Patriot Jonathan Stupar.

Many TEs available Jason Pociask...I would like to see DeVree back...

Heck, while they're at it, they can bring Stupar back too. . . . :)

Do either of them still have PS eligibility? I can't see BB bringing in one or the other unless it's on the practice squad...

I'm virtually sure they both do.

Meh, I'll keep it around for a bit as it's a good movie quote

And it's just one of many great lines from that movie.
