Sad but I guess it was time. I wonder if it was after a talk with Bill.

:(

Class Act - probably could have milked another year of salary, but he knew the limitations of his body.

Give him credit for going through Training Camp. Dozens of other guys wouldn't have subjected themselves to that, sitting out and milking out another year of salary.

Number 1 I did not want to see him cut, and the way he came back from the stroke it was amazing... But sad to say he was not going to be a factor anymore... Glad to see he is leaving on his on terms... But its very sad, would have liked to see him get a chance for 1 more ring.. he deserved it....

Tedy you warrior, thank you for the greatness.............a Patriot through and through, never left for the money, took his discount to stay with the family, thank you. You are a self-less Patriot icon that had as much to do with the rings as anyone else.

Will miss you teddy. brought us all so many amazing moments. I wish we could've won one more time in the last 2 years, to send him out on top. At the same time, it was clear his skills were eroding, and i didn't want to see him play anymore as the shell of his former self. god bless

Re: Bruschi will retire [mergedx6]

So long Teddy ! Thanks for all the memories. We will miss ya :( But it was very much expected after the first 3 pre season games.

Re: Bruschi will retire [mergedx6]

I kinda figured this would be coming in the next week or so. Bruschi is still my all time favorite player. He embodied what the Pats were all about in the first half of this decade. He was a tough, smart, overachiever who loved the game of football. The Patriots are a lesser team in spirit without him in on the field. I assume he will immediately become part of the Patriots' coaching staff and he is presence in practice and the sideline won't be missed.

sad day. Teddy, thanks so much for the memories and plays . . .

he is the last of the 03-04 LB to retire/leave via trade. i loved that 03-04 LB crew . . .

I don't know about coaching staff—it's not nearly as easy a job as you might think—but I remember when Bru had his stroke, Robert Kraft basically said there was a front office-type job with Bru's name on it if he wanted it.
