Re: Jets Sanchez tears it up against Jints

I think he will give the Pats fits this year with his speed and elusiveness. He kind of reminds me of Jeff Garcia. His arm is ok--I do think he's a bit undersized but he doesn't let mistakes get to him. Should be a very good qb, but not an interesting AFC East:)

Re: Jets Sanchez tears it up against Jints

I watched that whole game .. He didn't light shat up .. That TD to Stuckley was a broken play .. get out of here with that .. "He lit it up" .. ooookk

Re: Jets Sanchez tears it up against Jints

I've got a co-worker who's a big Jets fan so I'm interested to hear what he'll say tomorrow when I talk to him.

Re: Jets Sanchez tears it up against Jints

i keep hearing that scouts expect him to struggle a bit come the winter. because his arm's not as strong, he's probably better fit for a more southern climate. our second game of the season is only 11/22...darn

Re: Jets Sanchez tears it up against Jints

Sanchez completed 13 of 20 passes for 149 yards and a touchdown in the Jets' 27-25 win over the Giants.

Sanchez' biggest flash play was a 31-yard touchdown pass to Chansi Stuckey while rolling back and to his right, thanks to heavy pressure. His well-placed, backpedaling fling to Stuckey in the right flat turned into six. Poor coverage and even worse tackling allowed Stuckey into the end zone, but Sanchez showed impressive arm strength to get the ball out as far as he did.

The Jets put up 20 points on Sanchez-led drives.

I believe his QB rating was over 100.

I have to say I was quite pleased with his progress since last week Vs the Ravens.

Maybe he did not light it up, and I can see why the majority on this site would feel that way (7 years of Brady), but as a Jet fan, I think we finally found our guy, his ability to roll out and throw on the run is second to only Drew Brees. Sanchez has "IT"

I need a back flip smiley.:D

Re: Jets Sanchez tears it up against Jints

What a joke...I live in So Cal and watched this "kid". He was not and is not ready for the NFL. This is preseason and he is not that good, trust me. Pete Carroll, yes that Pete Carroll actually tried to tell him that he wasn't ready before the draft. He will be a bust...anyone want to quote me on that, feel free.

The media is hyping him (especially ESPN) because he plays for the Jets...the biggest media market in the country. Wait until the Dirty Sanchez faces real game planning from Belichick and the rest of the NFL coaches...

He's going to tell you that THIS is their year.

Just like last year when the Jets got Favre.

And the year they got Mangini as their coach.

And every year since 1969.

Because he is what he is.

A Jets fan.

Ha...after how many pre-season games you came to that conclusion? Wonderful...you guys are clearly reaching.

Re: Jets Sanchez tears it up against Jints

thinking back to the draft, the jets gave up almost nothing to move up and get this guy. moved from #17 to #12 i think with a 2nd, 6th and 3 backup players.

Fair point, although it also makes your post about him being a bust invalid.

Kettle calls the pot black.:)

Correct, except they moved up to #5 overall to get Sanchez.:) And Coleman(DE) was a starter

The cheapest move up to #5 ever, I think.

Re: Jets Sanchez tears it up against Jints

To say a guy has IT in the preseason is a ****** joke. He very well may have "it" but lets wait until he wins a big game, eh?

True...but I did watch every game he played at SC...potential to eventually be good...but came out too early. We will see. I love the way though after what, 3 pre-season games he is the second coming and has "IT"? Jet fans AND the media ought to wait until about game 6 or 7 before crowning him. I know Jet fans have waited a long, long time...but they say this every year with every draft pick or signing...(see Brett Favre)...:D

Looks like the Jets are on their way to another pre-season championship. We have to talk dynasty now.

I saw his first two games. From what I saw, he looked to have promise but still lacked a lot of the fundamentals. I still think he will struggle when teams start to gameplan to get in his head. He could be a great QB one day, but I think he might struggle this year.

I think he is going to be a very good QB. It's a shame he doesn't have much
to throw to (oh wait, did I say that?) :D

What stats and Jet's win/loss record would have to be compiled in order for the Patriots fans on this forums to say he had a good year as a rookie?

8-8 would be promising, I'd call 10-6 or above very good for a rook. Especially in NY.

Dude, I live in So Cal too! What up? I've watched the only year of him starting and your right, he's not ready for the NFL. How do you play one year of college football and think you can play in the NFL? Despite his big numbers, I really wasn't impressed. Like the last three QB's that have come out of USC, their arm strength is weak and struggle against the blitz. In addition, Leinart, Booty and Sanchez had a tendency to start games very slow early on but explode in the second half. Sanchez will find out the hard way that he won't have the luxury of starting games slow like he did in college. I find it funny how people think that Sanchez is going to do anything with Jericho Cotchery and some guy named Chansi Stuckey at WR. When Sanchez lights it up in a real game, come talk to me.
