Yeah, its an unprecedented move in the Belichick era. Cutting a 3rd rounder in year two, I mean. I wonder if they've got anybody on their radar. Thigpen?
Is this the huge surprise that I'm thinking it is? 3rd Round pick and dumped the next year
hope this isn't about brady's shoulder......if it is,I'm getting Jay Feeley vibes.
Yes, it is. I thought he looked absolutely terrible, but I'm shocked they didn't give him another year. I wonder if there is something behind the scenes (attitude or off-field) in addition to his performance. BB was more patient with Cassel and Gutierrez, so I wonder if KOC had some specific issue that made the team lose patience and give up on him early.
I'm shocked.
Cassel was struggling while running with the #1s and #2s (people may want to look back at the O-line in particular) against the opponents #1s, and he was playing as the team's #1 QB since Brady wasn't playing. O'Connell is struggling with everything and against everyone, and his mechanics are breaking down. I agree with the idea that the kid needs more time. We knew he was raw when he was drafted. However, I can't equate his situation this year with Cassel's last season.
