How can we cut this kid? Whenever he's been given the opportunity (pre or regular season) he's made the most of it and played balls to the wall.

He takes the rock, hits the hole and picks up what he can. Whenever he's in the game, it's such a relief from watching Maroney do the jitterbug in the backfield.

Don't get me wrong, I still think Maroney can be a weapon in the passing game. he is just not as good between the tackles as BJGE. He's just too damn indecisive.

I think it's time to say thanks and good-bye to Sammy Morris and give his reps to the little man.

He can run North-South alright !

As Phil Simms would say, at least he doesn't tap dance behind the line of scrimmage.

Next game we should try him with starters and see what he got ?? why he always plays with scrubs ?

I like him because I like this nickname, "The Lawfirm" :D

I subscribe to the LAWFIRM Bandwagon

With the current age of the Pats RB's, the Pats would be foolish not to keep him.

I like lawfirm too but lets temper the enthusiasm Chris Taylor looked good vs the bums at the end of the game. The skins backs looked good vs our 3s too. He could be playing his way into a 5th RB spot but I don't think he is better than any of the other 4 just because he looks in 4th quater preseason games.

I'm not jumping on...he looked great but his best hope to play lays with other teams.

Just a hunch but he will be a more productive player this year than Maroney...

Maroney is constantly dodging the phantom hits. There is a play where he caught a 9-yard pass and can just fall forward for a first down. Upon seeing a defender about 3 steps away, he immediately put on breaks and jumped backwards like a cat. A second defender came and wrapped him up for 2nd and 3. What a moron. He plays like he never wants to be touched.

he played against their 2nd team defense. so i agree. let's wait and see how he does against the other teams' starters.

He plays like he doesn't want to be touched or he plays like he is one side step away from a big gain----take your pick. On that play he could have broke a huge play if the DB didn't make a nice tackle.

BJGE Ellis needs a league where he can run against fourth string NFL players every week.

Doesnt it seem like he fumbles the ball at least once a game?

It's not like he hasnt shown what he can do when it counts. Is what he did last season just erased from the record?

I'd disagree that he is not better than Morris at this point in their careers. The kid just needs a shot.

I saw him last year too and he was good not great and then he looks great vs 3s and all the sudden he is better than the guys he is backing up. You may disagree but I think there is a reason when Morris was healthy he started in preseason and BJGE has only played vs 3s.

Again I said temper not cut. he may have shown enough to justfy 5 RBs but then again nothing may justify that many backs so he may just be trying out for another team.

You clearly didn't watch the game.. First of all, the player he tried to deke is the one who tackled him.. Also, he was trying to make the guy miss..

He doesn't play like he doesn't want to be touched. That's you not understanding things like jukes, dekes, and fakes. Hell, he actually ran better than Taylor against the 1st string defense... Yet,, all people do is talk about what BJGE does against the scrubs.

They will be making a BIG mistake if they cut the kid. He has shown burst, hit the holes hard and carried defenders on his back. He is a better compliment to our passing offense. Maroney is at best the feast-famine type of player (ala Barry sanders, but not nearly as good in big play category) that constantly backs a team into second & long situations. Brady and company just needs a rb that can get 2-3 yards a pop to keep defense honest. They can't afford Maroney putting them into 2nd & 12.

I can almost hear your response, Bill is god, how can anyone question you?

What did the kid do last year when "given a shot."

He had 3 starts last year and appeared in 9 games. He was hit and miss against crappy defenses doing well against Denver and Buffalo, but horrible against St. Louis.

Think about this. If he was so good last year, why did he get benched when Jordan and Morris were healthy? The Pats could have carried 4 RB during the games.. Yet they chose not to..

Marcus Mason was the "best running back during preseason" last year and he didn't survive the cuts with the Redskins. Got picked up by the Jets and then was released again..

People need to look at the quality of competition that BJGE is runnning against and the plays that are being called for him.. The big play he had tonight where they had a huge hole that you could have driven a MACK Truck through was on a draw play. You don't think that Maroney couldn't have done the same thing.
