Check out this video of him in practice yesterday:

Video

It is disgraceful. McDaniels should Terry Glenn his arse and suspend him for conduct detrimental to the team (with this video, there is no chance he could win an arbitration challenge). Then the Broncos should franchise him next offseason and force him to beg for a trade a trade again. No matter how upset you are with your contract, you should act like a man and not a little baby.

He's a mess, for sure. In retrospect McDaniels probably should have traded him way back with Cutler as Marshall has to be just driving his trade value down right now.

He's supposed to 'explain' the video tonight on NFL Live at 12:30.

I'm sure he will explain how it was McDaniels and the Broncos' management fault he dogged it in practice.

As much as losing guys like Marshall and Cutler will hurt the Broncos short term, long term it is a blessing in disguise. You can't win with "Me" guys like those two no matter how talented they are (and I wonder how talented Cutler really is in the first place).

Belichick had to do the same thing here. There were several guys who just didn't get it who were let go in 2000 or 2001 most notably Terry Glenn.

My guess is that they might have tried. As talented as Marshall is, he is a huge risk because of his legal issues and immaturity and is asking to be paid like the top WRs in the league. I am guessing that teams aren't quick to fork over a high draft pick or two or three like Chicago was for Cutler.

If an when Marshall gets a new contract somewhere, he is going to want a lot of guaranteed money up front and any team with a brain knows they want to make that the spread out payment on any guaranteed money and make sure it is able to be forfeited if he is suspended. I'm sure most front offices including the Broncos' front office think it is a question of when and not if he will be suspended in the future.

Yup - I'd say it's important for McDaniels to show that Marshall's behavior results in the loss of money and not getting what you want. And it's important that the Organization back McDaniels up on that.

It's vital that McDaniels set his reputation now if he wants to have a productive career.

People blasted Belichick at the time when he suspended Terry Glenn, but in hindsight it probably brought the team together and got everyone on page to what the Pats were all about especially after the disaster that was the Grier/Carroll era when it came to players' egos and attitudes out of control with lack of respect for the coach. I still remember the stories of when veterans were upset with what Carroll was doing, they "snuck up the back stairs" to Bobby Grier's office and complained.

Belichick showed that no one player, no matter how talented, was going to hold the team hostage with imature attitude. That is what McDaniels needs to do with Marshall.

imagine being a bronco fan. what the hell is going on, how did all these shanahan holdovers get so childish?

ps. you guys wouldnt imagine how many bronco fans, still bitter by the cutler trade, are blaming this situation on mcdaniels as well. theres a lot of supposed fans who hate anything and everything mcdaniels.

Yeah, it's not like JMcD was put in an awkward position or anything, like, you know, Cutler trying to force his way out of town before the whole Cassel issue came up. . . .

"blown out of proportion" and "error in judgment".

hey i agree, i think mcdaniels is gonna be awesome. i love everything hes done, character, football IQ were teh #1 thing when bringing in draftees and FAs. cutler and now marshall's crying had little or nothing to do with mcdaniels, it is just sorta giving them a REASON to cry.

if any team in the nfl could make him behave, it would be your pats

just being honest

Brady would filet that chump. He's not strong enough mentally to survive as a Patriot. Like Cutler, he needs to be coddled. I don't know what the hell Shanahan was doing at the end, but he screwed the pooch by allowing these players to develop attitudes like this.

actually i think you'd break him mentally and assimilate him into your system
you guys are like the damn borg lol

It's a business. Marshall is doing what is best for him. He has clearly outperformed his contract and deserves to be paid like the rest. He asked nicely for an extension and the Broncos declined. He asked for a trade and the Broncos declined. So why are they keeping Marshall? If he can't get it with the Broncos, he should be able to get it somewhere else. Unfortunately, his numbers will decline, the Broncos will slap the franchise tag on him (which I think should be eliminated) and he will be stuck a Bronco. After McDaniels traded Cutler, I don't blame Marshall for his actions. Their franchise is quickly becoming a joke. I give McDaniels two years.

So would I want him on my team? Sure, he's one of the best WR's in the NFL and I haven't heard any stories of him being a problem in the locker room. Sure, he has some off the field issues, but so did Randy Moss early in his day. Although Moss didn't beat up his girlfriend, he did run over a traffic cop.

I am ECSTATIC that you are not running an NFL team.

Moss never ran over a traffic cop please, he nudged the cop with his car (stupid none the less). By the way, here are some of Marshall's transgressions.

October, 2004: Misdemeanor charges of trespass, resisting arrest without violence, disorderly conduct, refusal to obey and assault on a police officer. (Later dismissed)

April, 2005: Retail theft of $20 bed sheets at Burlington Coat Factory. (Later dismissed)

June, 2006:Reports of domestic violence, no charges ever filed.

December, 2006:Was named as a possible cause that ultimately led to the death of cornerback Darrent Williams via drive-by shooting after spraying champagne on night club patrons.

January, 2007: Incident with his own father that reportedly included gun shots. No charges were filed.

March, 2007: Reports of domestic violence, no charges filed.

March, 2007: Arrested for false imprisonment and domestic violence, charges were later dismissed after attending anger management classes.

June, 2007: Reports of domestic violence, including an “accidental cut” on his girlfriends thigh and a rock thrown at the passenger side of her friends’ car. No charges were filed.

June, 2007: Police respond to “fight-in-progress” call and find girlfriend with noticeable bruises and scratches. No Charges filed.

October, 2007: Cited for driving under the influence, BAC of 0.116.

January, 2008: Girlfriend files for temporary restraining order, was later lifted.

March, 2008: Domestic violence call, ultimately resulting in Marshall fleeing the scene. Girlfriend would then file for another temporary restraining order.

August, 2008: Suspended for three games by the NFL. After appeal, the league reduced the suspension to one game without pay plus a fine.

September, 2008: Charged with two misdemeanor counts of simple battery as a result of the incident the previous March.

September, 2008: A year after being cited for DUI in Denver, Marshall pleaded guilty to the lesser offense of driving while ability-impaired. He was sentenced to one year of probation.

February, 2009: Became engaged to then girlfriend Michi Nogami-Campbell, a different female than the one named in the incidents above.

March, 2009: Marshall and Nogami-Campbell seen in a physical altercation. Situation is “under review” per the NFL.

I am ECSTATIC that you are not running an NFL team.

So tell me, why are the Broncos keeping him? It doesn't make sense. If he's such a liability off the field, don't you think the Broncos would have unloaded him by now while he's worth something? Marshall should've been traded, not Cutler. I said, I'd like him on my team but I never said I would trade for him.

is it safe to assume you are NOT a patriot fan?

Do you want to elaborate on that? Because I don't like what the Broncos are doing makes me not like the Pats as well? I don't like Mangini, does that mean I shouldn't like the Pats?
