I was watching Comcast SportsNet the other night and they were discussing the leagues top 5 fantasy receivers

Thier list went with Larry Fitzgerald at #1
Andre Johnson at #2
Randy Moss at #3
Calvin Johnson at #4
TJ Houshmenzada at #5

They also had a fan poll in which the fans who voted picked Fitzgerald slightly ahead of Randy Moss with Calvin Johnson a distant third but one of the sportsdesk host who was the woman says that she was surprised that Randy would be up that high since his best years were years ago while her co-host says that Randy is ranked a bit high for this years fantasy team because the Patriots should have blowouts this year pulling Randy early from some games losing his fantasy stats potential.

Thoughts on this?

Reggie Wayne? Steve Smith? Have to be in the argument somewhere.

Maybe it's because he's been injured a lot, but I keep seeing Andre Johnson top three on almost all WR lists I've seen, I don't think agree with that.

AJ might actually be the best. His numbers, despite having questionable QB's so far throughout his career, are ridiculous.

Moss is generally 3rd on most lists...

1)Fitzgerald
2)A.Johnson
3)Moss
4)C.Johnson
5)Wayne

I've haven't seen Houshmandzadeh in anyones top 5...

I'd put Fitzgerald and Andre Johnson 1a and 1b right now. Then I'd put Moss, Calvin Johnson and Reggie Wayne in the next tier at #3, 4 and 5. Steve Smith, Greg Jennings and Roddy White would be in my third group, and then Welker would be #9 in a group including Colston and Bowe.

TJ certainly is a top 20 receiver but not top 5 ..not even close IMO

I think the first 4 on the Comcast list are in perfect order,My #5 would be Steve Smith of the Panthers

That can be said about other receivers whom he is ahead of, Steve Smith, Calvin Johnson.... But then again not having seen him play that much probably clouds my opinion a bit.

the last time i played, Wes Welker did a great job for me

Careful... Fitzgerald is on the Madden cover this year. He'll miss at least a few games ;)

But seriously, I rank Moss third behind Andre Johnson and Fitz. I'd rank Calvin Johnson tied with Moss if he didn't have a huge question mark at QB.

Fitzgerald is getting a lot of love for that post season performance.

I figure if Calvin Johnson did okay with Dan Orlovsky and whoever else was QB for the Lions last year, I wouldn't worry who his QB is this year.

Welker is a great fantasy WR in the #2 spot unless its a receptions league.. I personally wouldn't take him till the 3rd round.

Agreed. In fact Seattle is not the best place for a WR to showcase their skills. Hasselbeck seems to get hurt every year, the running game is a work in progress, and the weather is not ideal. I dont expect much from him this year.

Good point. And it's entirely possible that Stafford or whoever else leans on Johnson and it raises his value. I just think the situation is questionable enough I'm not ranking him top three.

I was able to Draft both Larry Fitz and Calvin Johnson in my 12 team fantasy league...

:)

But what do your RB's look like?:)

Marion Barber, Ryan Grant, Willie Parker.

However, my league, 1pt for every 15 yards rushing, 1pt for every 10 yards receiving so I felt WR was weighted as more important.

But, heck... I feel I have a strong RB class too...

My weakness, is Matt Schuab is my QB, which I mean to say, I didn't get an elite QB, but I had Schaub targeted from the start and got him late and at great value.

My roster is similar - I was drafting 9 out of 12 on NFL.com and ended up with:

Cutler (Favre - yes, I know)

Grant (Reggie Bush)
Parker (Washington)

AJ (Breaston)
Megatron (Moore)
DeSean Jackson

Scheffler

Folk

Bears
