Who do you think will be extended before the final cut?

I chose the placekicker. Everyone seems satisfied with his work & work ethic. He is good at what he does and few kickers break the bank. Mind you - if he gets a case of the Asantes... he can be let go.

If there is no cap next year, he isn't even an unrestricted FA, so they might not bother getting a deal done this year. I still think he's more likely than the others.

Wouldn't have thought of Guyton until I saw him on your list. Good chance.

I don't see extending Guyton before the season, so far he's not outplayed his contract, let him demonstrate his value on the field - I have faith he will and since he's at worst an ERFA, you have time to extend him.

None of the above

Agreed. Pats have no motivation unless players are coming to them and willing to accept a super-duper cap friendly deal- see Kazur and LeVoir.

Wouldn't LeVoir been an ERFA next year?

Probably, but he played himself into the long term contract last season. Guyton looked promising, but this season looks to be more of a true test of his ability to start inside - if he'd not gotten injured last year he might have a new contract.

Why not have Brady as a choice? The market for a top QB is set now ... maybe some creative financing could lower his cap # for this year and allow other moves.

Hello? Are we talking about the same player here? I'm sorry Box, but I think you're off your rocker on this one.

...............+1

According to NFL.com, he would have been, b/c he didn't appear in a single game before last season. . . .

This is why I was really confused by the move myself. It's not normally their style to extend ERFAs.

where's the option for 'nobody'?
Atleast, none of the big names are being extended this year. Too many questions about next years cba, or the lack of one ;)

Brady isn't there because I think that Brady being extended in the next 10 days is less than any of those listed.

We have discussed his situation many times. IMHO, it would be impossible to reduce his 2009 cap hit while giving him an acceptable contract. Even if it were possible, next year is a much better time to edtend Brady, when all parties know the new CBA rules and much more money is available.
