Great start by the dirty Sanchez

I disagree, if he had thrown for 150yds 3tds 0ints would you still chalk it up as a learning experience and say it means nothing? I dont understand why when somebody struggles it means nothing it was just a learning experience, but if the guy performs really well hes the next great thing.
The learning experience is getting hammered and having the defense pic you and score on you, then hang tough and keep playing. The learning experience is having a short memory about these things and not get flustered. He did well in the later goings.

People dismiss his TD by saying the defense was confused? Well, the pic came when he was being taken down by Ray Lewis. Lots of QBs throw pics under those conditions. Warner did in SB XXXVI.

Washington and Thomas look good.

I have seen nothing to think that the Jests will be a less formidable opponent this year. I think they will be a lot better than they were under Favre.

not me, sorry Im not buying that. when favre was healthy the jets were a really good team, they lost momentum in the end cause of key injuries.

According to the announcers, neither Lewis nor Reed were on the field by the time Sanchez got lucky with the confusion, and Suggs didn't play at all.

P to the R to the E season...let it never be said that I am bias...that being said Jests win 7 games this year

That's right ,Deus. I watched the entire game. Sangria looked HORRIBLE against the Raven 1st string D.Made that jailbreak throw when the Raven LB's were done for the night.Spy Leon Washington and the Rats will have trouble gaining a 100 yards a game. And that idiot Clowney is a PERFECT fit for this squad of cheap shot Ryanettes.

It's a rookie QB in his first start going against one of the best defenses in football.

he started last week against the rams, didn't he? the difference was that the ravens threw everything at him today and he looked confused.

lol jets fans were dreaming about super bowls after sanchez made that one completion last week.

Hes tall, has a strong arm. Hes tall, has a strong arm. Hes tall, has a strong arm. ..............

No, he didn't start.

I'm a geezer who saw in person Joe Namath's debut in pre-season against the Patriots in Lowell MA. He smoked our team. Sanchez, you're no Joe Willie.

No, Joe Namath couldn't have been any good, he didn't wind up with the most statistics.

I know it seemed like he was great, but Jim Hart was really better.

I remember watchin Joe Flacco in Pre Season and thinking he was the worst QB i've ever seen

And Sanchez has an above average, not a strong arm, compare his arm to Staffords, not even close

Matt Cassel: Pre-season 2008
0 TDs / 1 INT
165 Yards / 4.9 Avg / 55.9%
55.6 Rating

That was a guy four years in the system and also playing with starters.

It's only the pre-season.

Shocking to consider that Sanchez isn't ready for the Ravens all out blitzing team by the 2nd week of preseason, this golden armed boy should be tossing TDs and laughing in Ray Lewis' face.

Some of you guys have crazy expectations for a rookie in the 2nd preseason game against one of the most fearsome and might I add regular season looking defenses in the league.

chad Pennington looked all kinds of lost against them in the playoffs last year. That was funny.

Peyton Manning's first year he set the record for most interceptions in a season, I think.

I'm not sure, but I think he may have learned.:D

Favre loses momentum at the end of every year. They'll be significantly worse the first half of the season, but they may be better at the end.

...hes really handsome and the media loves him. he's really handsome and the media loves him......

Sanchez looked really bad, but he can improve. The Jets' pass rush looked worse, and will not improve. Gholston is a total bust, and Pace will be out for the first four games. Even with a good secondary, Brady will drop fifty on them in week two.

Got lucky? Hey, I've hated the Jets since forever. One of my happiest memories is 56-3.

But are you just talking or did you watch the game and are analyzing?

Because I saw Sanchez under pressure and move to the outside to avoid the rush, stop to plant his feet and wait a tick for the receiver to get open, then toss a very nice strike.

Yeah, the pic was horrible. It looked exactly like the regular season toss Brady made to Sam Adams in 2003, a year we won the SB.

As I said, the key was that he didn't get flustered, even after pass number 2 in which he should ahve been pic-sixed again, but Mr. Over-rated couldn't hold onto a ball my grandmother could have caught. He could have been done for the day, but he maintained his cool and focused on the present, not the past. Not all veteran QBs do that.

I can't believe I'm defending a friggin Jester. I feel dirty.

I love to bash the Jets and I already dislike Sanchez, but pretending he is a deer in the headlights is foolish.

The Jets will be tougher this year. It won't be enough, but they will be tougher.

Yes, I watched the game. He was able to throw to a man who's defender was completely unprepared due to pre-snap confusion and was running just to get into position as the snap was occuring. Had the defender been prepared, that would have been an easy interception.

You are being generous. Sanchez absolutely does not have an above average arm if you are considering starting NFL QB's. His throws downfield take an eternity to get there and he moves through his progressions very slowly (which he never had to do at SC since his first looks were always open). Basically he is a raw rookie who had it pretty easy in college.

If he works hards and takes improving his game seriously, he could see a Brady-like surge in his skill set. At that point, he can be as good as his mental makeup (which is a mystery at this point) allows him to be.

If he goes Broadway, he probably peaks out at a Chad Pennington level...which is pretty funny.
