Throws a pick-six to a 350 pound Ravens nose tackle.

Then on the next series he throws what should have been another pick-six to Ray Lewis, who (unfortunately) dropped the ball.

Then a three-and-out.

Great stuff!

I know Flacco... and you, D. Sanchez, are no Flacco.

Seriously though, I think Sanchez - even if he's ridiculously overhyped - may be a solid QB who will give NE problems someday. I just don't think someday is anytime in 09-10.

We should ask "the most interesting man in the world" what his opinion is regarding when and where Sanchez will beat the Pats. He might say :

-The time is never, you can figure out the place by yourself.

What are you talking about. If the receiver didn't drop the pass, he would have had two TD passes on his first two passes. Granted when I say receiver, I mean Ray Lewis. When I say two TDs, I mean two INTs for a TD.

As much as I think Sanchez ain't ready for a starting role, this is a good learning experience for him.

He has a lot to learn.

But, to be fair he is a rookie in his first start against the Baltimore D. Chalk this up as a learning experience and nothing more for now.

The scouting report on Sanchez is that he is not comfortable being blitzed. No QB is, really, but in the game USC lost last year (Oregon?), they pressured Sanchez. He will see a lot of pressure in the NFL and AFCE.

Time will tell, but this Namath crap is absurd.

Rex baby is throwing a lot of pages out of his defensive playbook on the field. He'll learn.

:yeahthat: The biggest question is, are the Jets and their fans prepared to be patient? Hard to imagine.

I think Washington has caught as many passes tonight as he did during his time as a Pat.

They'll give him a free pass for a while just because people know he is a raw QB, well at least longer than they give players at other position. I think Mike Tannenbaum has to be far more worried about the fans' and media's patients since Gholston is shaping up to be a bust and if people feel that the Jets built this team up to win now and Sanchez looks like he he is a couple years away, the fans may think Tannenbaum blew their chance at a Super Bowl.

I'm a geezer who saw in person Joe Namath's debut in pre-season against the Patriots in Lowell MA. He smoked our team. Sanchez, you're no Joe Willie.

Who would have thought the Jets competition for starting QB would be like Life commercial.

"I don't want it. You have it."

"I'm not going have it."

"Hey let's get Mikey! He'll start anywhere. Hey Mikey Vick!"

I typically like Jaworski, but if he could get any more hyped about Sanchez I think he'd spontaneously combust. With the way they are talking in the booth (and on NFLN and on ESPN), I don't know why opposing defenses are even bothering to take the field this year. Just hand the Jets the trophy. The Franchez - God's gift to the quarterback position.

Sanchez looked terrible. The score he got came because the Ravens were confused on the defense pre-snap.

Then the backup (as I think it's now safe to call him) threw a horrendous pick. Sanchez will become the starter by default.

I disagree, if he had thrown for 150yds 3tds 0ints would you still chalk it up as a learning experience and say it means nothing? I dont understand why when somebody struggles it means nothing it was just a learning experience, but if the guy performs really well hes the next great thing.

For me Jaws and Gruden are like a breath of fresh air. They actually talk football. They'll be fawning over Brady on the Monday Night opener like a couple of school girls.

I disagree. It is good for a young QB to take his lumps early and try to work his way out of ta bad situation. I think he ultimately failed in that effort, but I think it is something every QB needs to learn to do and it is better in the preseason than in a regular season game when the points really count.

Awesome. I'll have to search for a replay.

I agree I like this team. Jaws is a little over the top, but he and Gruden can breakdown plays with the best of them.

And he's got the edge in looks over Joe Namath. Don't ever underestimate the importance of that to New Yorkers.
