During the pre-game warm ups a couple of punters hit the mega big screen TV. Sure enough, during the game, the Titans punter hits the screen and the ball drops straight down. Jerry Jones says there are no plans to move the screen up.
I'm no engineer, but, couldn't they have figured that one out? Heck, you spend over a billion you'd think they would get that right.

Yeah I seen the highlights of what happened, you'd think all of that time and money spent on the stadium you would of thought they'd make enough room between the screen and the field so that punters wouldn't be nailing that thing lol.

A one billion dollar pile of junk. They could have built three stadiums for that amount that would look just as great.

Re: OT: LOL Cowboy's New Stadium

not only is it built with that flaw, its built for nothing, whats a stadium like that with a team non-playoff contender. money spent poorly

That stadium is so nice though. My mouth dropped open when I saw it on television. I can't imagine what went through the players and the fans' minds. Jerry will only move that big screen once it costs his team good in the battle for field position. As long as it hurts opponents' kickers, it's going to stay put.

the kicker of Tenn said in warmups he was doing it on purpose for fun - he might have hit it 6 or 7 times. He said during the game though, it was a legit kick when he hit it.

Apparently, the refs are running downfield and watching for holding and everything else that they don't have anyone actually watching the flight of the ball. When the ball hits the scoreboard, the kicking team should not have to use a challenge to get the play replayed but thats what almost happened.

So the ruling on the field is that the ball is dead and the down is replayed. But the clock ran off some time. Did they put the time back on the clock? If not, it would be a great way for a team to run out the clock, if leading by only a few points at the end of a half or of the game. Just have your punter keep hitting the scoreboard, running off four or five seconds each time.

They did not put the time back on. However I heard they would during the regular season.

Actually, I believe there's a rule that specifically forbids clear unsportsmanlike behavior (e.g., intentionally breaking rules in an attempt to kill time), and, in any case, if there weren't, there would be as soon as someone tried that.

It wouldn't be unless it was clearly the intent of the kicker to run off the clock.

If anything they would call a 5 yard "voluntarily out of bounds during a punt" penalty since it would be out of bounds. Move back 5 yards and replay the down, clock reset.

Wow, look at all the jealous people in this thread. I wonder what your posts would be if the Pats had a huge TV like that at Gilette.

We'd be asking why the hell it was only 90 feet above the playing surface when the team's kicker had already proven that he could boom it that high.

Well, I don't know about you, but I'd be asking why it isn't in my house.

Who goes to a football game to watch tv?

Nah..... it wouldn't fit.

I'd be willing to knock down a feel walls and raise the roof in order to accomodate. Imagine the Sundays you could have with that thing, a keg of Landshark, some chips and beandip, and your buddies. Ah the possibilities...

I figured you were a cheesebuger guy.

That will be fixed.

Who has time to grill on NFL Sunday? My bean dip takes 15 minutes to make. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees, take a glass dish and spread some cream cheese on the bottom, mix a layer Hormel chili (with and without beans) over the cream cheese, then sprinkle a layer of shredded cheese over the chili, place in oven for approximately 15 minutes (or until shredded cheese is melted), take out, dip tortilla chip in dip, eat, and enjoy. Much easier and goes down great with beer.
