Pittsburgh Steelers faked out by Mike Tomlin's movie-day tease - NFL - SI.com
Posted: Thursday August 20, 2009 1:01PM
Coach Mike Tomlin and kicker Jeff Reed showed the Pittsbur
gh Steelers that it's not only quarterbacks who can run a fake.

As the Steelers trudged toward their practice fields for the last in a long series of a two-a-day practices Thursday, a fleet of buses pulled up at Saint Vincent College. To the veteran players, this signaled a welcome training camp tradition that began under former coach Bill Cowher: A morning at the movies, with no practice.

Wrong. Buckle up that chin strap, Big Ben.

Then...

Ben Roethlisberger injures ankle at Pittsburgh Steelers practice - NFL - SI.com
Posted: Thursday August 20, 2009 5:39PM
Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger has injured his right ankle.

Roethlisberger had an ice pack on the back of the ankle when he was carted off at the end of Thursday's practice on Pittsburgh's final day of training camp.

I don't find the injury funny, but I do find the unfolding of the CNN SI headlines to be.

I think if Roethlisberger jammed his ring finger, the whole world would know about it. He had to be carted off huh? Any word on the severity of the ankle sprain?

I have a sneaking suspicion this is just a prank played back at Tomlin...

Too bad the injury's not as severe as I wish it were.

Why would you wish for a severe injury on another quarterback after we saw what happened to our's last year? That's just bad karma, dude. If anything, I wish for severe injury on that fat boy that created the "Bernard Pollard Fan Club" T-Shirts after Brady went down. THAT would be poetic justice.

They're now saying it's a possible achilles injury. That idiot James Harrison apparently went all out, pushed the lineman back and on top of Roethlisberger's leg which twisted the ankle and caushed the achilles injury. Nobody has talked to the media about it in an official manner, but Roethlisberger was hurt (as he was getting carted off the field) saying that "it feels like a car ran over it".

Movie day would have been a good idea...

Agreed:D:D

Let's hop it's simply Rthlsbrgr doing his drama queen bit again

I HATE seeing the top echelon players out. It dilutes the product.

As much as I hate the Steelers and loathe Big Ben, I feel sorry for him to get injured. I don't want to see great players go down with injuries, I want to see them humiliated on the field.

Cheering an injury of an opponent and having it linked to karma is asking for bad karma for your team...it will come back to smack hard. Someone will miss big time for injury now
