It seems as though TC has worn on them. By all accounts, this was a more physical camp. Given that we've had more heat recently, and they've still had double sessions this past week, could the team be drained?

Now could be the time that BB eases off the accelerator and they have a sharp performance against the 'Skins next week. Perhaps it's all part of the master plan. The alternative is that they're really having trouble getting on the same page in many areas. That would be somewhat troubling.

just a preseason game...they were trying stuff without much gameplans.

Totally. Don't think fatique is an issue at this point.

defintely a concern. the players said that this is the toughest BB boot camp since he arrived.

Funny how the same tough camp left them so fresh for the 1st game, eh? :)

The offense was definitely out of sync, but I didn't see any reason to attribute it to fatigue.

Exactly this. It happens every season, and this board still freaks out over preseason performance. Of course, by December everybody will have forgotten that we don't game plan for preseason games and next year will start another round of preseason panic.

It happens EVERY preseason

but...Espn showed the Bradys stats from the 2007 preseason, compared to this preseason and they are verry simalar.....just saying.

exactly. They didn't even play the entire game, so if they are getting tired after a few quarters. yikes.

i didnt even see the game much just a few mins. although brady's throws sailing over moss and welker could be because of his mental challenges with the injury but it could be just about knocking the rust off and gettiing in mid season form. other than that i really did see much to worry or excite a lot either..they were just moving stuff around to fit personnel.

They weren't worn out, just making rookie and new guy mistakes or screwing up without reasoning...

If anything I think they weren't sharp and focused because he backed off them after game #1. They were off until sunday PM and were in a walkthrough on Tuesday...

I don't think that will be the formula this week.

Yeah, those two-a-days for two weeks really made them look lethargic against the Iggles.

Teams that are worn down tend to do okay for three quarters then crash. There weren't many players who played more than a half of football, so I'm not sure how you can equate poor play to practicing too much.

teams that go 4-0 in the preaseason ususally don't have a very good regular season. the skins and lions have been there before. i remember BB being pi$$ed after a preasason loss to the bengals back in 04'. it's better to lose now and work out the kinks in August.

I'm not worried. It's pre-season. I have confidence that things will be just fine when the real games begin.

IMO - The goal wasn't to win this game but to set scenarios and get the bubble players as much time as possible to make that call on who to cut and keep. I think that was accomplished last night and it's much more obvious who the busts are (Wheatly.)

It was BB. That sly fox set them up to fail. He had to do
something to bring them back to earth. They were getting
toooooo confident. :D

I think the 2nd preseason game is 100% about evaluation of anything new (players, formations, situations, etc). That is why Wheatley had no safety help against Chris Henry on 4th-and-forever. That is why O'Connell came back in the game for the 2 minute drill at the end.

Players were put in new (and potentially uncomfortable) situations to judge their progress. Only Belichick knows if their failures were teachable moments or revelations on their potential. Either way, these situations shed more light on roster decisions than putting players in the best position to succeed (which will happen in the regular season).

Nah, it was just that Mexican food they ate before the game. Diarrhea tends to make professional athletes look sluggish.

You look at even the Super Bowl years. There looks like there is always at least one game where the Pats are either flat or sloppy in a game. I remember the last time the Pats played the Bengals in the preseason, they lost 31-3 even with the Pats' first string playing into the third quarter in the second preseason game of the season vs. the Bengals back ups. The Pats went 14-2 and won the Super Bowl that year.

People need to not get too excited about preseason games.
